The big difference will be clean headroom...the 20 watter will break up at lower volumes then the 40 watter on the clean channel...however if you don't use clean tones then that won't be an issue. If you're using it at home and/or clubs and small venues then I'd go for the 20 watter, work those tubes a bit harder
