Topic: Thanks Joe

My wife and I were at the show Saturday night in Ft Meyers. We had purchased tickets last spring and had been looking forward to the show, our fifth time seeing Joe, all year long. On Thursday, two days before the show, my Dad died. That night my wife and I discussed whether we would make the trip to see Joe. Joe, the band and the music has become very important to us. We decided to attend. It was so emotional for us. The passion that the band plays with matched the emotion we were feeling. By the end of Mountain Time, we were both in tears holding each other. It was a feeling that its ok to be emotional, Joe and the the guys  played the way we felt. Thank you Joe and guys. Hope you all have a great Christmas and vacation. Can't wait until next year.

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.

Re: Thanks Joe

So sorry for your loss Bobkat. Sounds like making the decision to go to the show was a good one. A very cathartic experience. As Buzzy said, I too hope you find comfort with family and friends this holiday.

Re: Thanks Joe

Sorry for your loss bobkatmsu.  Music is a great thing and moves and heals you in so many ways.

When I saw Joe back in May I was having a great time and then he kicked into "Oh Beautiful".  Tears started welling up in my eyes and I was overcome with this feeling of a friend of mine who had passed 15 years earlier waiting for a heart transplant was right with me.  I swear if I had looked to my right I would have seen him but I just rode the feelings out and watched Joe.  There's more to the story because it was a letter that caused me to end up a Joe's show and meet Joe that day but that can be told another time.

My thoughts are with you and your wife bobkatmsu.

Re: Thanks Joe

Hey bobkat, how are you?  Hope all is well.  There is no good time for such a loss, but there sure are worse times.  When I lost my Dad I did something very similar and it felt good.  Like all wounds the pain will subside and it will leave a scar, time will heal and the right music helps to move it along.
