Topic: Columbia 12/5

This is stop 2 of my trifecta - Friday night.  If you do a google street view of the venue, look at what you see!  I can't even believe it!  What are the odds?  Apparently pretty good. I should print this out and give it to Joe at the M&G.

Re: Columbia 12/5

Just got back from Durham. It was a great show, and had a surprise for us - Bogie Bowles sat on drums for Double Trouble, and was grinning ear to ear!

Wonderful wonderful experience tonight.  I'm exhausted.  We passed Joe's big giant RV headed toward Columbia.  My wife waved smile

Re: Columbia 12/5

Another great show last night in Columbia!  Almost missed the meet & greet due to massive CF on the roadways, made it just under the wire.  Hurried hello and got my stuff signed.  Showed Joe his name on the marquis in google street view, must have amused him because he mentioned it during the concert.  Smaller venue than Durham, they scaled back on the equip a tad and it sounded clear & crisp during the electric set.  Oh Beautiful!  smile

My favs:  Jellyroll!  Happier Times (verklempt I was)  JFOB Athens to Athens

Oh Beautiful Double Trouble Quarryman John Henry

Tonight I take my son to see him in Greenville.  I can't wait!

Re: Columbia 12/5

Re: Columbia 12/5

Sounds like you're having a great time and I take it Joe was just messing with everyone when he posted that photo on twitter of the crazy fender in the acoustic lineup of guitars. Have a great time in Greenville!

It must have been just for fun, he did skip over it somehow smile

Thank you thank you for your DAR vids, they are a treasure and will be what I look at to reminisce about this Fall.

Re: Columbia 12/5

First I apologize for the terrible camera phone video, but I'm posting it because I don't see any others of the Durham Double Trouble w/Bogie.  Enjoy!

The audio is fine which is what counts. Thanks! Which guitar did he play on that tune? Smoking tone as always and so nice to see Bogie in the kit. He hasn't changed a bit. smile

It was clear to me he was loving every minute of it Rick!

Not positive which guitar, but likely the same as the following night's trouble in Columbia, here's a picture of that

He sure had a big grin on!  Wish I had a better video of it but oh well.  I wasn't recording, but when Joe said he had a special guest and said his name, I freaked and thought to myself, I better DO SOMETHING even if it's wrong  smile
