Topic: Help with setup please!

Ok guys here is a tricky one i've got myself an AC30 and i want to pair it up with my JTM45hw but i also want to run the JTM out of two cabs while i run the Ac30 on its own ... i know i would need a ABY pedal to get both amps running at the same time.
The problem is i have no idea about ABY pedals, so i really need some advice on what to get.

Thanks a lot !

Re: Help with setup please!

I use the lehle dual and that works very well for me

You cant compare Jimmy Page with God. I mean he's cool and all, but he's no Jimmy Page!!

Re: Help with setup please!

lehle is very good and very expensive compared to other options. If you can afford it - go for one!

Cheaper ABY's that have 'lights' to say whats on sometimes buzz or click when switching.

The best and cheapest I've found (that's passive) is the Radial Bigshot ABY. If you hook one up in reverse, you can put two guitars through one amp. cool
I've seen national touring bands use Morely ABYs, but I heard 'some' bad reviews and I personally have never used them, but economically priced.

good luck!

I picked up a Morely ABY on a whim earlier in the year and I've never been able to use it due to the ground loop buzz issue.  Haven't gotten around to finding a solution, they made it sound like it's not a big deal.  It was cheap... one of these days I'll look into it closer and figure out what to do.

Re: Help with setup please!

Radial Twin-City is very good. No noise, no tone loss at all and built like a tank.

Re: Help with setup please!

i've hear wonderful things of the Radial Bigshot and the best thing i see on it is the ground loop thingy that can take it out ... my money is on that one i think because here in Spain electrics in general are ... Poop ... so better solve the ground issue before it even pops up smile thanks guys for the help !

Re: Help with setup please!

I have a Fender ABY Pedal which I have used with my Peavey Classic 30 and Peavey Classic 50/410. I also use it to switch between the normal and bright inputs on the C50. Very cheap at just £30 and I've had no problems with it.

Re: Help with setup please!

+1 on the Radial product. Great!

Re: Help with setup please!

plus 2 on the Tone Bone Radial......

Re: Help with setup please!

Guitarrista 88, the only thing I 'do not' like about the Radial BigShot ABY is that there's nothing to indicate if it's on both or A or B. you just have to "remember"... takes a little getting used to. Other than that... cost effective and high quality.

Re: Help with setup please!

While it's expensive, I've been using a Lehle Dual.  Had no problems with it.
