Topic: My son's first public singing performance

As you might know from previous posts on here, my 14 yo son has done a few instrumental guitar pieces in the past, but the Friday before last, he did his first public guitar & singing performance.

I was worried that he picked a piece that was quite technically difficult (complicated picking rhythm) but I think he managed to pull it off...

I'm pretty proud of his efforts! smile

And proud you have every right to be, that was well done.  As I was watching it my daughter walked by, stopped, backed up, and started watching it with me.  It caught her attention too!

Thanks for all the great comments everyone!  I really appreciate it.  Great crowd here who are really supportive and encouraging.  I've posted this video on other forums and gotten NO response at all... smile

As Jordan builds his singing confidence, I am thinking of trying to get him to try singing a Joe B number... hopefully a song that has some vocal and guitar chop.  He quite likes 'Sloe Gin', which I think is a great ballad he could do, but want to pick a more upbeat tune that his schoolmates might get a kick out of, like this one.

LOL, and yes @edragoo, he has the girls chasing him at school.  Hopefully they won't distract him from schoolwork and music! big_smile

Great performance. And not an easy song at all!
The guitar part alone is really difficult for me, i can't sing along with it. It seems that my mind can't do both playing and singing. Your son seems born to do it! smile

So i'm really impressed. Always nice to see young people so talented.

Love the fact that you can share this passion with your son, makes it even more special. I love to play with my good friends, but can't imagine doing it with someone i really love...it must be the most beautiful thing in the world, a magical bond.

Wow, he did a great job with both the singing and playing! Those chords looked so difficult to play. He really has a lot of talent. Thanks for sharing that with us.
