Sad news of another great talent passing on. Did anyone ever see the 1 hour documentary about Jack Bruce: The man behind the bass? I was wondering how it was.
Its a beautiful & sunny autumn day here.
Singing along to Sunshine of your LOVE. Disraeli Gears was my 1st Cream purchase.
RIP Jack. Frontman of one of the most influential bands in rock history.
It was Cream that brought me into music and to pick up the guitar, and Sunshine Of Your Love was the first song I learnt to play, so I owe a great deal to Jack Bruce. I think we all do.
May God rest his soul.
Another great one leaves us.
But his legacy lives in forever.
I'm with Gary. One of my favorite Robin Trower albums is one with Jack Bruce on it.

Great shout. The Truce album from 1982 is superb. They did another one in 1989 called No Stopping which was so so.
Sad news indeed. RIP Jack.

Jack Bruce is one of the all time greats of the music world , many people of course associate him with Cream , as he should be. But he did so much more in his remarkable career. Not only a fantastic bass player,a great musician , period. Also a top composer and singer.
The wide world of music has lost one of its legends. RIP Jack!
So many of the living 'legends' are getting on in years. Great that some of them can still produce. We have to face up to the fact that many more will slip away in the coming years.
They've lived hard lives some of them, or rather should I say some of them have lived life hard. I'm grateful to him for his talent and body of work and that he was prepared to let bygones be bygones and work with Ginger again for the Cream reunions. Only a true gentleman could have done that.
His contribution to modern rock and popular music won't be forgotten. RIP
And lets not forget his music with West, Bruce & Laing.
1974's Zappa's Apostrophe album....The title track is an instrumental jam featuring Cream bassist Jack Bruce and drummer Jim Gordon. Jack Bruce is credited on the album cover with bass guitar and co-writing the title song. However, in his interview for Polish rock magazine Tylko Rock he jokingly insisted to journalist Wiesław Weiss that he had not played any bass guitar parts on "Apostrophe (')", only the cello parts. Bruce learned cello as a child and plays it on some of his other recordings. However, his cello comments regarding "Apostrophe (')" can't be taken seriously, because the only cello featured on the album is contained in the opening of the title track. His bass playing on "Apostrophe (')" does in fact sound at times very much like the bass lines that he played with Cream
