Topic: Joe's Bridge Pickup

Hello,
New here, 61, learned by playing Bloomfield and Clapton in 1966-67. Super Session and Clapton W/Bluesebreakers. Hendrix had his first LP out, remember taking the plastic off. Then Beck's Truth came out, along with Led Zep 1. Albert King Live Wire.  B.B. Live/Regal. All hit me within my first few years of serious learning. Had to put turntable (a record player) on 16 to learn licks. To those much younger, records were played at 33 and a third.
O.K.- question- As I am disabled now, I must be careful w/bucks.So,  Will Joe's Duncan pickups be available after the original run is sold? If so, I specifically would be interested in the bridge A3 mag pickup, and hope it will be available by itself.

Oh.. just looked..
took 2 years of being out in the wild but I see Joe's store says sold out. (finally.. wonder who got signed set 1959??)

I can see there are at least 5 sets for sale on Ebay about the same ($375) price we paid for ours.


I seem to remember also that several new Les Paul's were made with the Bonamassa pickup set.. (maybe that's how the 1959 got sold out)

I am going to pull a set from the SG where they reside so I can sell it.   Wasn't really planning on selling them but  I have 2 other sets so I'd be will to let them go chepaer than new if you are interested.  The SG and I just never bonded so they are very low mileage.

I'll wait and see wait S. Duncan does. I could afford a floor model, don't know what they would call it, Page's are called WLH, maybe Joe's could be called MSB's (Many Shades of Blues). Hey, Joe, how about a free bridge humbucker for the cool name?

MJ is really good to talk to.
she wound all the sets, I'm pretty sure the SD won't put out a 'standard' across the store shelf Bonamassa pickup but they will custom wind you one.

When I first asked her if she could put aged gold covers on my set she said no. Joe and Seymour worked so hard on these; she said.
that was at the time of first release.

then about a year later, guys here on the forum started asking for her to do custom work on the pickups, like bobbin colour and no covers, etc.
and she started doing the customs.

If you really want one. Call MJ.

Not going to go into a long rant, but my experience with MJ (and someone else at SD who was involved in my CS order) was less-than-stellar, and that's putting it nicely.  Unpleasant enough I will not order from the SD CS again.  (I'll still buy their pickups "off the rack", as it were)

I would call her up just to talk to her, if she was cool. I wouldn't mind asking her about some pickup tips.
I own two humbuckers from the 80's that were wound by her, but I don't use them. The plan is to sell them.
