Topic: Joe, please release another instructional video....

Hello all,

Am I the only one who thinks Joe should make another instructional video (I can't even find the old one I've heard people talk about)? 

I am interested in any practice/technique tips he has to offer, as he truely is one of the greats.

Oh, and it's good to join these forums.

I had only heard of the Lead Guitar one.  What is the other one called?

I'm currently working with a couple of guys in starting a blues trio.  We will probably just start out playing covers and whatnot.  Just for fun.  We haven't played much together yet, though, so we shall see if it works out.

Montius:  Welcome to the forum.  The early one is called "Lead Guitar Unlimited" released by Hot Licks Video, out of print at this time.  As Jane said, they pop up on Ebay from time to time, usually about $40 or so I think.  I heard that Hot Licks was sold to another company who had been re-releasing the VHS recordings on DVD with new "bonus" tracks, I got the Warren Haynes and it is great, but I haven't seen Joe's re-issued yet.  I emailed the company (I think it's called MusicExpress" or something) but received no response.

The new Hal Leonard-published "Signature Sounds, Styles & Techniques" is not really a "how-to" with respect to guitar technique, but is a very interesting look at Joe's approach to amps, effects, etc. and is definitely worth the money, just don't expect him to show you how he plays <insert your favorite song/lick here>.

I'm a 45-y/o music fan that plays a little guitar myself. (Would that be a ukelele? LOL).  Keep posting!

Yeah, I figured that is what that "Signature Sounds, Styles & Techniques" was all about.  I'm certainly going to get that anyhow.  I am just curious as to what practice regimes or tips Joe has for aspiring blues guitarists.  Knowing what to practice is every bit as important as practicing, I think, and it would be nice to get some insight into how Joe approaches it.

Oh, and I intend on continuing to post, don't worry.
