from the pictures I saw of RR.. I love the big screens on either side of the stage.

I think that should become standard for Joe show's even in the 2300 seat theatres

It would be cool for him to use the Headstock Camera on some songs.

Those of us down front couldn't see the screens since they were off to the side. Those up at the mid to top seats couldn't see the stage without binoculars it was so far away so the screens served a purpose.

A lot on my plate these days and I haven't had time to post here lately. For those that don't know my husband was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor back in February I had posted in another thread some time back. We had planned on going to the show however decided it would be best if he didn't make the trip since he is still undergoing treatments. He is doing great and the prognosis is good, so I took a little caregiver break for some "me" time and planned the trip with Donna! It was just what the doctor ordered!

Seeing a show at Red Rocks has been on my bucket list ever since watching the Moody Blues on PBS back in the 90's. Thanks Joe Bonamassa for making it happen! The night was magical from the tailgate with Bonabuds before and after to the 9000 giving multiple standing ovations. Thrilling to be a part of the special evening, it could not have been more perfect. I am hoping the entire 2 hours will air on PBS as a music special for stations everywhere, not knocking the edited fund raiser shows for the local stations during the tours just saying this is a great way to promote the mission of Keeping the Blues Alive foundation and deserves to be a PBS program.

I was fortunate to also see the show at Beaver Creek on Thursday and will post in this thread as well. Both shows memorable and in the top of the best shows I've ever seen. It is true what they say about the Red Rocks having the best acoustics, it's one of those things you just have to experience to understand how good they are in between the rocks! Thanks to Joe and everyone involved for assembling the best musicians, songs selections and arrangements, if you've watched Natasha's videos you know what a phenomenal show it was. There's not much I can say that has not been said here already it was an epic night!

Also congrats to Joe for the sell out and his largest live audience ever! As a long time fan it is a thrill to say I was there. I had as much fun watching the crowd reaction and talking with folks that were there. One thing Donna noticed during the show was one of the concession vendors that walks the crowd selling from the box strapped around their neck had stopped dead in her tracks during one of Joe's solos, I think it may have been on Double Trouble. Time is money for these folks so I feel certain they do not stop a lot during a show. She stood there on the steps watching until it was over, she then turned to start back down the next aisle with her head shaking! I was so hoping she would make it to our row so I could just say how'd you like that?!? There were multiple standing ovations but most exciting was when the band left the stage before the encore seeing everyone on their feet cheering, clapping and chatting about wanting more. Joe comes back to announce they will be doing some of his songs and the crowd roared then he goes in to Oh Beautiful and Love Ain't a Love Song, it was so cool watching the crowd rocking back and forth to Oh Beautiful as if it were an old rock ballad they had jammed to many times while I imagine for most they had never heard either song before that night. I think a great sign these will be fan favorites! Really liked this version of BOJH, really cool at both shows to hear "I'm a long way from Colorado" with the crowd singing along with Joe! Chatting with the couple next to me it was their first time seeing Joe, she turned to me when it was over and said "that was the best concert I've ever seen" I'm sure it was for many there that night. Walking out, everyone was all a buzz talking about how good it was, I was tuning in to it and loving every minute of it!

When the show was announced as a special tribute show to Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf my hope was there it would become a series of tribute shows to other blues greats. I was thinking I had seen a post somewhere asking who else you would like to see Joe pay tribute to, but I can't remember where? There were a lot of replies, the possibilities are endless. I hope it can happen, if I can make the trek be it at Red Rocks or some other really cool venue count me in!

It worked, thanks for your tipp. The review showed a wonderful impression of the evening and above all I enjoyed the photos of this unique location. Sweet memories came back from my Rocky Mountain Roundtrip III some years ago by rented car.

Although my vids were less than optimal, my audio capture exceeded expectations. Any that would like the whole show, less a tiny bit, can pm me with their email and I'll shoot it over.
