Topic: It's a small world ...

So, we're currently on the beautiful island of Kefalonia, Greece and today went to Fiscardo for the day.  After lunch, walking along the stunning harbor front, we spied a guy wearing a Joe t-shirt!!  We got chatting about our favourite rock god (as you do when you're 1450 miles away from home) and it turns out that he lives 20 miles away from me in the UK.  Not only that, he's going to see Robert Plant in Bournemouth in November! Naturally, we'll meet up for a drink but by then the suntans will have faded somewhat.

Laurence is going to wear his Joe t=shirt tomorrow to spread the word amongst the Greek!!

That's so cool!  I find a feel a connection to others who appreciate Joe, even if I do not know those people.

I'm addicted.

Hi Lyn,

I hope you're having a good time in Greece and I'm pleased to hear you have bumped into someone else with our common obsession. I always take an assortment of Joe and Mule t-shirts with me when we go to Portugal (as I will be next month) with the intention of spreading the word or maybe striking up a conversation with a fellow fan. Sadly, it hasn't happened yet. sad

Does anyone else do the same and have you had any luck on the social intercourse front with fellow Joe fans while on vacation?

Re: It's a small world ...

I too always take Joe shirts or jackets etc when we go places.   When last in Vegas had several folks come up to me and say I saw him on PBS or I saw him in  concert.   No one ever has said Bona Who though

Re: It's a small world ...

Can totally relate to the small world thing. When we were at the airport in Denver after the Red Rocks shows we were standing in line at the Southwest gate right next to these two guys. They were talking about how tired they were and how they had been out pretty late the night before. We said we had been out the night before too at a concert at Red Rocks. Turns out they were part of the film crew for the show. They work for PBS out of the Baltimore area. We talked excitedly about the whole thing, they told us they had been to a huge afterparty the night before that's why they were so tired. The one guy kept looking at Phil and saying he looked familiar. After they exchanged business cards turns out Phil used to be on the same Carroll County Tech Council with the guy back a few years ago. A small world indeed.
