Saw the Temperance Movement open for Blackberry Smoke about a week ago. What an incredible energetic band they are. I have cherished the cd since it came out but to see them live on these shores was fantastic.
Love the band though Havent seen em live.Seems I heard about a follow up album to their first Lp was to be released last year.Havent seen anything about it for a long time.

OH MY!!! Yes I saw them open for Smoke also!! Well we all know how it goes for an opening act. People talking-walking around-beer and bathroom breaks. Well yah all of this happened at the beginning of their set but by the end EVERYONE was digging these guys!! Thanks to the forum again as I never really followed these guys but wanted to check them out!! HIGH ENERGY!! One of my favorite new bands!!
Here is a link some were looking for.
a heads-up for anybody with TTM films posted on YouTube, - their record label Earache Records Ltd last week slapped a load of copyright infringement claims on anybody with a film of them playing material that has not yet been released. Unfortunately they did not message anybody with these films asking them to take them down, but instead filed complaint with YouTube which means that you get a strike against your account for every film, 3 strikes and your account is deleted. I was lucky as I only had one film, but my YouTube account now is in poor standing and has restrictions placed against it.
Judging by the private messages that I have received all this has done is to upset a lot of genuine fans who were doing their but to promote the band, and send any material “underground” where it is not publicly visible. It has also resulted in a lot of TTM films removed from YouTube; I have deleted al of mine as I cannot risk another strike. - Earache also monetised peoples films thereby earning money from them.
So beware, - if you have any TTM films I would at least take them to a private setting.
ps, - nobody is disputing rights to films, and from what I have heard do not have an issue with them being taken down, - but a lot of people have issue with how this was carried out. Thank goodness Joe and his team valued the use of social media to spread the word and raise the profile. I think Earache have made a massive mistake in how they carried this out, - they are one of two incredible bands (Rival Sons being the other) who need a far greater public profile to increase their popularity.
Sad to hear that Ian. Send the band a nasty note saying that's it for support and see what happens.
Glad you didn't pay the ultimate penalty.
Rick
thanks Rick. I have written, - (trying not to nasty as I do understand it a privilege that we can record in live performances) - awaiting response, a few people have had responses but nothing official yet and by the look of it YouTube being very impersonal there is not an easy way of overturning decisions - well they advise that if you attempt you have to be prepared to take it to court!
The band are very fan friendly and as this has (I think) happened to some that are close to them I am sure will be concerned.
- Copyright and social media exposure is a blurred line, - and it has become pretty much unenforceable given the amount of hand held recording devices that we all carry these days.
Over here,(I'm not sure of the law there) any clip or recording of any artist belongs to that artist in toto. If I were in that band this reduction in exposure to garner a bit more sales might not be worth the cost. The only way to make a living now for most is by touring and filling venues. Word of mouth and social media are golden.
Rick
- an update on this, - Earache kindly lifted my “strike” on this after I got hold of the right person, - interestingly I was put onto this person by a fellow fan in the USA.
