Topic: Robert Cray/John Hiatt tour 2014

Went to the show last night and was treated to a tremendous night of music. First time seeing either and they did not disappoint. Robert Cray was well Robert Cray. Very smooth and soulful-nice tight band-you can tell they have been together awhile. I had been hearing stories of how john Hiatt was slowing down a little. Well last night he had the place rockin'. I don't know why I'm so surprised, I just thought it would be a little more mellow. Good band with him also made this a great twin bill!

Dont need a helmet to get me through life-walk across the water blame it on foolish pride.

Re: Robert Cray/John Hiatt tour 2014

We saw this combo a couple weeks ago here in Minnesota and I agree it was tremendous. I've sen Robert a number of times and this last time was the best show I've seen him do. First time seeing John and his band and would definitely go see them again!

We just got tickets to see them this Sunday. Looking forward to it!

First time seeing both Cray and Hiatt and we really enjoyed it. They performed at a beautiful venue, the Strathmore, which was built for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Sound and lighting were fantastic, however they made an announcement stating no video or audio recording. I was determined to get a few regardless, so did it in stealth mode. And of course even though my seat was in the front row, I had a stage speaker right in front of me, lol. John Hiatt has a new album "Terms of My Surrender" that just came out a few days ago and he did a few songs off this new album.

John Hiatt:

Wind Don't Have To Hurry http://youtu.be/rBMPfBGMfE0  His guitarist played a banjo on this one that was placed horizontal in a stand. Never seen that before and the song was really cool.

Nice vids!! We grabbed some video at the Portland ME show. Even though they announced no video security seemed really relaxed about it all.
