Got a last minute request to take my niece to a Lada Gaga concert in AC ( my sister "got ill at last minute".)   I put on my BonaMonster shirt and off I went. U should see the crowd!  "Gaga is no Joe" in her Pop world!!  Pray for me!!

I feel for ya bro. Reminds me when my mom insisted I take my 15 year old sister and all her pals to see Dave Clark 5 in the stadium. I sucked it up and did my duty as guardian and chauffeur. I still hear the screams and squeals in bad dreams.

My highlight ... then somewhat lowlight of last night ...

Was standing in the concession line getting my niece something to munch on.  I feel this tap on my shoulder and I turn around ... A young girl ... 14 ish I'm guessing .. all Gaga'd up ... asks me "What is BonaMonster?"

(I had done some quick research when my sister called for the backup ... and read Gaga fans are called Lil' Monsters ... hence my shirt selection for the show ... but during the drive thought to myself and worried ... people may think it is Gaga related ... anyway ... )

I said "Joe Bonamassa!!! He's considered the Lady Gaga of the Blues!!! ... and we fans are called BonaMonsters!!!"

Her Gaga made up face could not hide her puzzled look. I turned back around.

Another tap on the shoulder ... I turn ... she askes "Who are the Blues?"

Thank you edragoo!  Knowing I wasn't her first choice as a companion, I tried not to ruin her night, and I did my best to behave (other than this concession stand exchange smile ) and "enjoy"  ... (we get along great as uncle / niece ... she was smart enough to say on the ride to the show that my shirt may confuse fans. smile)

No meat dress ... but Gaga did strap on a white Flying V (matching her white outfit) for a brief moment during some song.  She appeared to "strum" it as she skipped across the stage.  There was so much heavy techno beats going on ... I didn't hear one chord ring out.  Probably wasn't even plugged in. smile

PathMan ... just to clear my name big_smile ... I would never in a million years thought of stringing the name Lady Gaga in any comparison to Joe B!  All this stems from a Pittsburg review this year (see post 1 of this Thread).  Leave it to a reviewer to open his piece with:

Joe Bonamassa is like the Lady Gaga of the blues ...

to make his point.

The reviewer made the connection ... and ruined a small piece in my brain forever.  As soon as my sister said "Gaga" ... I thought of this Thread (hence my "off topic" posts to it last night. smile)
