Topic: Ron reports from the road "Guitar Gods Tour 2014 with Gary Hoey

Hi all
Most you know my story so I will not bore you all with the details. In short Joe's music and Joe himself has given me direction after the loss of my wife Cindy almost four years now. For me it is now all about the music, to try to find ways to get the next generation excited about rock blues and not settle for the crap out there now. For us on the forum we are so lucky to have Joe as a inspiration. I have been fortunate to meet Joe many times and I can tell you he is the real deal, down to earth, hard worker and always treats his fans as number one. He will never really understand how he has helped me.
Many events have taken place since my wife has passed away that I now believe is due too my wife looking down after me. Another major person along with Joe that I have met and become great friends is Gary Hoey. He lives like a mile away from me he comes over my studio and I his all the time. Gary is another guitarist that has all the qualities of Joe. I am soooo lucky to know him also. Gary has invited me to join the Guitar Gods tour that starts next week. I will be helping on the driving and guitar tecking for him. So in the spirit of helping the music I pulled together a video for Gary I would like to share with you all. Within the video is a link to Gary's website and a Kickstarter link. Please have a look and support Gary on kickstarter if you can. This is totally my own doing in order to help another wonderful person like Joe but who has not been as fortunate as Joe. I will update as we go along. First stop will be The F.M. Kirby Center Wilkes-Barr, Pa. I will update after the show.

The house sitting is taken care of by my son and daughter. They moved back in with me so they can save money. They are also watching my two dogs appropriately names Les and Strat.

Thanks yeah I agree Gary is underated, his last cd "Deji Blues" is awesome. I am surprised more have not noticed.

Once in a lifetime opportunity Ron. I hope you have a blast and the tour is successful.  Gary is a great player.  Keep us posted.  Really looking forward to hearing your account of what it is like to be on one of these tours.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I'll be sitting in an office under fluorescent lights in front of a computer.

I did become backer #48 on kickstarter though. At just the $20 level you get four album downloads, so even if you're not altruistic, it's a bargain. Though I really want the Gary Hoey guitar strap. :-)

The Wilkes-Barre show has been posted to DIME.  It is a short but sweet show and Gary sounds great.  Ron, I am sure this one was a lot of fun for you.

I am having a blast. I have had zero time to post. We have a day off soon I plan to post an update then. I forgot what it was like to be on the road. I will most definitely lose some lbs.
