Topic: So I saw Lucinda Williams last night and..

..$55 well spent.

I don't expect this thread to be too popular but I'd encourage everyone to check her out if you're not already familiar with her.

Wasn't wild about her drummer. He didn't suit the material in my opinion nor was he consistently steady. Shes played with much better. But Stuart Mathis on guitar was amazing.

The opening band was good as well, tho a little same'y from song to song.

Whitaker Center in Harrisburg is a great place to see a show if you're nearby.

I love Lu.  I've seen her a few times, and she's one of my favorite artists.  Car Wheels, Essence and World Without Tears and Live at the Fillmore are all must-haves.  Great song writer with a strong and unique voice.  She has awesome guitar players, too.  Doug Pettibone and Bo Ramsey were a huge influence on me.

Truth be told, I wasn't a big fan of her last album Blessed, it just didn't click with me, but i still anxiously await any new material.

Thx for the heads up....she is playing for free Saturday the 14th @ the  3 Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh Pa...
