Topic: Ann and Nancy Wilson(aka the Lovemongers)-The Battle of Evermore

So I heard this version of the song on the radio this weekend and was completely blown away, what an Amazing rendition of the song.  I never really liked Heart, but man these girls really do an incredible job  on this song.  This song is definitely some of the best music ever written(props to Page and Plant(JPJ as well?), just incredible, check it out.

The Wilson sisters are probably on of the best Led Zep cover bands out there. The first time I saw them in 75 or 76 they did Rock n Roll. Go see them live they will not dissapoint.

Two of my all time all time favorites, Heart and Led Zeppelin, and one of my all time favorite Zep songs "The Battle of Evermore". Heart has always had heart and they do not disappoint.  Like Jim saw them long ago & far away....

Jim, I'm sure you've heard the cover of Rock'n'Roll off the '01 release by Double Trouble with Susan Tedeschi on vocal and KWS on lead fill. IMO it's the best version of that tune I've ever heard.

Best cover version Dawg? Heck Whitesnake did it good too, Wilsons, Susan, or Coverpage-"They're Grrrrreeeat!" , but I stick with the original as best...Cleveland, if we're talking baaay-sa-ball, this year , as of this day for this years season, so far, does approximate rock.  Cleveland often truly rocks when the right people show up in town...Like when the Wilson sisters did "The Battle of Evermore" at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame show in 1995..."Rock On Missus Calabash even if you are in Shaker Heights", Keep the Faith,

Re: Ann and Nancy Wilson(aka the Lovemongers)-The Battle of Evermore

Not really.  Ok I let my not caring greatly for Gretchen Wilson thought loose.  BUT, I saw this originally and was highly (and delightlfully) impressed by her vocal.  Her stage presence for "her" stuff she is totally loose & country comfy (although one of the "things" I have against her is when she "acted TOO big already" when she was a nobody less than Rocket), but here she looks like she is prairie dogging or something to me.  Can't knock a good take though. The guitars make this song "over-the-top" normally, yet they sound faxed in at a couple spots & end it kind of sloppy, so my kudos has to begrudgingly go to Gretchen Wilson for making it very good. So, I guess I can answer "maybe" Mike.
