Ron (Cindyron) and Jay (guytron) are at the Hampton Beach show right now and Ron asked me to post these photos he just took of Joe's Blue Strat.

Here is a video of said guitar:

New song, new guitar:

Joe used this guitar on Love Ain't a Love Song.  My friend shot this for me.  Don't worry Natasha and Rick you won't be getting any competition from my video endeavors.

Some idiot actually handed Joe something to sign during the song (and another inebriated one tried to get Joe to sign her shirt during the song).  I did not know Joe took a break during this song (I have purposely not been watching videos of the new songs) and thought for a minute something was wrong.

Great solos by Derek, Lenny and Tal, and of course Joe.  Nice to see the Fenders back.

Re: Hampton Beach 5/16/14

That video was great Sandy! Thanks! Can't believe Joe actually signed that one guy's thing. People are crazy interrupting a person during their performance. Joe and Carmine just shaking their heads at the whole thing, lol. Looks like the first time Tal has been sitting down on the floor this tour. I guess the stage couldn't accommodate the tall drum riser. Thanks again for sharing.

Re: Hampton Beach 5/16/14

I'm glad most people had a good time at this show but I'm probably one of the few who didn't. It started with my "obstructed view" front row seats. Basically in a nutshell I could not see Joe at all during the entire acoustic set. Too much equipment, seats, other performers-look I love Lenny and Mats as much as anyone but would have preferred to see Joe!!
I know this has a lot to do with the venue that Joe has a fondness for but after paying $125 for tickets I would have liked to see the entire concert. Can I get half my money back?(lol)
As far as the show the acoustic sounded great but well already stated. When they finally cleared the debris off the stage I thoroughly enjoyed the electric set-or well convinced myself I did. I thought the two new songs were the highlight of the night.
I agree with you Sandy but this just wasn't a show with a few idiots it was like there was a convention going on. That drunk guy in the second row actually caused others to leave the show early and ruined it for others. security should have tossed him a lot earlier than they did. So if you like people arriving late-getting up constantly only to come back "double fisted" with beer and pretty much being loud and obnoxious even when Joe was asking them to be quit you would have enjoyed this show.
This venue is set up for GA unseated shows most of the time and does not measure up to the other great venues I've seen Joe plat at. I know all the nostalgia but if your charging top dollar for tickets we as fans should get more than this. Ron G

Re: Hampton Beach 5/16/14

This was my first Bona-Concert and I was third row center so I had prime view of most everything. I'm not a guitar player but the guitar with the mother of pearl or it is called tortise shell? Anyway, it was so beautiful.   I don't even play but I seriously want that guitar. :-)  Joe was sporting the suit with the sneakers, so I give him props for that. If you're going to jam you might as well be comfortable right?  Honestly, Joe probably could have gotten away with doing the acoustic all night he was so good.  I was so zoned in on his fingers most of the time I almost forgot to look at him!

It was a very rowdy crowd which all the guys in the band seemed to appreciate most of the time. When Lenny lost the tip of his stick during one of the songs we busted out laughing.  He just shrugged his shoulders and kept playing like a pro!  I know Gerry was having some fun with people in the first row too.  He was trying to be all serious but then lost it at one point.  Someone from backstage peaked out from the curtains and had Derek laughing a few times too.  You could tell the guys were having a great time on stage, just amazing chemistry.  It just rolled into the audience and back to them.

I should have written down what Joe played but it's all a blur to me.  There were so many firsts for me yesterday - first Joe show, first time meeting him, etc. that it's just this one ball of memory.  I do remember during one of the solos Joe was letting it fly and I half expected him to do a Pete Townsend jump and a windmill. He didn't do that but it was one of those moments where it felt like he was going to.  Don't know how to explain that exactly but there was this super change of energy in the air and then he just exploded with the rest of the solo which resulted in a standing ovation.

Just an FYI about the video - The first item Joe signed the guy had it sitting on the edge of stage, he didn't approach Joe from what I could tell. He may have and I didn't see it as I didn't have a straight view.

As for the other person, it was actually a guy because he came several times up the center aisle right next to me.  At one point, he just planted himself in the aisle until Casino staff asked him to return to his seat.  I couldn't believe he had the nerve to go up to Joe like that during the show. My friend and I just looked at each other and shook our heads.

Have respect for the man and have respect for the music, you know?

There were some annoyances but I wasn't going to let them ruin my good time.  I had an amazing day and night and that's what matters.

What a show! Beyond my expectations. Well worth  the 6 month wait. I thought his dvd's were fantastic, but live in person blew me away. Joe, please come back soon. 5 days later, my girlfriend & I are still talking  about it. One of the best guitarist  I've ever
seen, and I've seen hundreds. Worth any ticket price. Thank so much for including New Hampshire on your tour. What a weekend; Joe Bonamassa on Friday nite, motorcycle races on Saturday and Sunday at Loudon. Life is good!!!

I am truly glad for the positive responses. Just because I had a bad experience doesn't mean it wasn't a great show( as always). I'm finally "getting over" my situation and enjoying the positive that I could see. Still thinking of Oh Beautiful just a great song. Ron G

Indeed Oh Beatiful was a great song!  I snapped a photo of Joe during that song and he wasn't the only one playing guitar.  Seriously, in the photo I snapped you can see someone standing next to him playing a guitar.  He had an Angel on his shoulder! :-)

I think I figured out where you were.  Were you near the guy who was doing high-fives to people near the end of the show?

Re: Hampton Beach 5/16/14

I will see Joe for the 1st time in December, which seems like an eternity.  So I am going to appreciate the reviews and pictures until then.  fett2112....I am happy that you are now enjoying the positive aspects of the show.  I understand the frustration of  being genuinely thrilled about something to not have it go as you had pictured it.

We were on the right standing in front of Carmine front of the stage. I laughed at your review-in a good way-because I remember my first JB show not too long ago. I couldn't take my eyes off of him playing!! I had the "Joe Afterglow" for about a week after!! Hope to meet you at a future show!!! Ron G

Re: Hampton Beach 5/16/14

I have seen Joe twice before at this venue, both times memorable, only because of the music. I have always hated this beach side archaic dump  for  a number of reasons that I wont get into on here. I  wish the next time Joe decides to visit New Hampshire, it is at a different facility. I do not doubt one bit the issues people are complaining about on this forum. Beach drunks, phone text-ers and people who generally know nothing about his music comprise at least 50 % of the crowd, maybe more.  For me it has been 10 times in 4 different states starting in 2006 and  Joe is the best....just please not at the Club Casino in Hampton NH again  PLEASE

Thank You for Some Absolutly Great Music, Joe
