The M&G went well for the most part except for when the moment set in that I was standing right next to Joe and my brain shouted "OH MY GOD IT'S JOE AND HE SHOOK MY HAND!"

OMG Sirona, I love it! You described it all perfectly! And the brain shouting thing doesn't go away after the first M&G either smile I've talked with Joe a number of times, but I think at every one of them my brain's shouting "I'M TALKING TO JOE! OMG I'M TALKING TO JOE!" No wonder I always get tongue tied with all that shouting going on big_smile

I felt like such a goof when I met Joe. I had a jacket in one hand, a folder in the other trying to protect the letter I had. I had a letter for Joe because I wanted him to know the origin of how I ended up at the M&G and the show in general.  I was hoping when he had a free moment (does he have those?) that he would read my letter to know the purpose of my donation. It was my way of thanking him and to let him know he matters, that his music matters and that what he does makes a difference for a lot of people on many different levels.   I'm sure he knows that but hey we all need to hear we matter now and then.

I'm still processing last night and all that went on. From Lenny breaking his stick and laughing it off, to Gerry having fun with the audience, to Derek getting a bit of a surprise from behind the scenes, to Tal going like a maniac on the drums and Carmine just grooving on the bass and Mats having a blast with the audience too.  He had to deal with a very rowdy bunch in front of him!  I was in such awe of Joe and the things he was doing.

I figured it was an alias of sorts, but it certianly sounds cool. Many people here don't use their real names. Mine is Natasha, but my family and close friends call me Tash. And since this forum has become my extended family, anyone here is welcome to call me that as well smile

I had a minor brain cramp but it went well.  In the end I had him sign the letter his foundation sent me.  He read the letter quickly and it definitely took Joe by surprise, so much so he shook my hand twice!

My friend who was getting her first introduction to Joe's music last night said to me after the acoustic set - "Forget Joe even though he looks like Leonardo DiCaprio, I'm totally in love with that Gerry guy."

We had so much fun last night as it was certainly a cast of characters in the audience.  I don't think I've ever seen such a diverse crowd at a concert.

Anyway, I had a smile on my face the entire time and was happy to have been able to go and experience what I did. It was amazing and certainly will never forget it.

I think saw you I was front row. I was the guy Joe handed the pick too when he was playing. Great show cheers Ron

Re: Who is going to the Hampton Beach show?

I remember Joe doing that and thinking "how cool" for that guy.

You were across from me as I was 3rd row center aisle. Were you the guy on the end or third seat in?

My memory is a little off from the show but I remember most everyone around me. Some people made sure they couldn't be forgotten.

Like the Goth girl who I ran into.

Saw that too, we were front row on Derek's side of the stage. Very cool. I couldn't see what happened to Derek, just saw him laughing, what was the surprise?

Glad you got the meet and greet.  Heard the show was a knock out as always.  Kind of you to support Joe and his charity.

Did you miss the guy popping out from behind the curtains?  That's what had Derek laughing.  It was so unexpected. I was watching the show and then all the sudden there's this extra guy!

We were to the left of where Derek was, so couldn't see that, just saw him laughing.

A week later and I'm still riding the wave of the show because a different co-worker has been coming up to me everyday this week to ask how the show was.  My friend who I brought with me is a co-worker and her office is next to mine so talking about the show won't stop any time soon.  It was her first time hearing Joe's music and fell in love with Gerry. :-)

As for supporting Joe's foundation - it's for a good cause and the stories of what the foundation is doing is great.
The staff are awesome and super nice too.  Sometimes you know you just have to do something and this was one of those cases.

It must have been one of the crew. They peeked out from behind the curtains and were making faces at Derek. Derek was making faces at him.  That's why there was laughing going on.

Re: Who is going to the Hampton Beach show?

I think a lot of elements used to become an integral factor, in the same way as what number of individuals asked, asked once more, or are (over and over) asking, how huge the throng very nearly curving in the front entryways in at a young hour in the day, Bonamassamania-style, is...suffice to say expect it straight and sweet as well.
