It's been 36 years since horse racing had a triple crown winner, but California Chrome looks like the best chance in years. Not a bad deal for $8,000, small change in the thoroughbred racing world. Kind of Cinderella story in the making.

Agreed. That's a fast horse. Can he do the long one at the Wood? That's been a back breaker for a lot of fast colts. Win or lose, the owners are laughing all the way to the bank!

We may never know after news broke regarding the state of NY racing banning nasal strips which Cali. Chrome has worn in every race. His trainer said it will be up to his owners whether he runs or not. It's a mile & a half, longer than the Derby or Pimlico. It's always somethin'!!!

Actually the $8,000 is what his owners paid for his Mother and they bred her. Nobody said what the stud fee was, but the cool thing was he was foaled on Feb. 18, 2011, my birthday 3 years ago.

No doubt, should be a ratings boom for NBC and horse racing. I know I'll be watching, there's never been a Triple Crown winner from Cali.

I am a big #Chromie fan. Living in Horse country here in Kentucky, Horse Racing is king. Very excited for the prospect of a triple Crown chase. I don't think he can hold off the contenders on a longer track unless Victor holds him back a bit longer than he did in the Preakness.
