Topic: Hanna Montana

OK folks here's my story. My sister asked me to log into ticket master the day Hanna Montana tix went on sale at 10 am. So I'm on bout 9:45 and at 10:02 get the confirmation that I purchased 4 tix. So I call her and tell her the good news. As it turns out she went to a store and stood in line and got 4 of her own. Now here I am with 4 tix for a show I have no desire on attending and am out 150 bucks. Well so I thought, it turns out these things are like gold. People are paying 2 grand for 4 tix. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  I kid you not.
So I'm not one to scalp tix or try and take advantage of people, however I put an ad on Craigs list to trade the tix for a used lap top. I thought that would be a fair deal. Within an hour I had over 15 e mails.  Here's some of the offers. 2 weeks in a condo in Myrtle Beach, 5 days in Cancun, a 42 inch plasma. One lady offered to take me to Best buy and buy me a new lap top for 600 bucks.
So what do I do? The show isn't till Jan 4th and I thought about holding on till Christmas and then see what people are willing to shell out.  Any thoughts?   Hanna freakin Montana!

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late

I believe in Karma, rule of 3, what you put out comes back x3!...That's why I'm poor..lol..I do want to know how this all ends...It sounds better than real estate or the market right now...Cathy

Re: Hanna Montana

What goes around comes around. I'm a big Karma believer as well. I thought about having the people have their kids e mail me a story of why they should get the tix and go with the best regardless of price. (to a certain extent)

Re: Hanna Montana

Forget that! What 'til the little b****** get their Grandma and Grandpa Warbucks Xmas dough!  You can get a $600 laptop now (not with a pumped up price either) for $200 with the right rebates...You were doing a favor for sis.  Don't go for the story bit because you'll get so much bs it won't be funny at all.  I know I sound cynical, but getting your money back locally the night of the show assures you get 1) An even return on your money at a time yuo likely could use it quickly, and easily, and above all, guilt free.  Plus 2) Somebody who REALLY wants to get in and see Montana Barbera Cartunes and thought it was "only worth a try', actually gets to.  And maybe they didn't get exactly what they wanted for Christmas-imagine that! Yet life can be worth bragging about when vaction's over and school's in session again...(I have no idea who Hanna Montana is-a Disney marketing kid "star"?  I assume a teenage girl style show)

Hanna Montana is Billy Ray (one hit wonder) Cirus's kid.  You know the Achey breaky heart song.  She has a show on Disney channel and yes the pre teenage girls love her.

Jeff,
I say get what you can: Capitolism is the American way.
If someone's willing to pay it, and it makes them happy, what's wrong with that (aside from the scalping issue)?
Warning though, be careful. There are some unscrupulous people out there that will try to swindle you if they can.

Re: Hanna Montana

OK my in box is filling by the hour.  Everyone is stuck on the 600 mark. 150 a ticket. My gut tells me to hold out till Christmas, but I really could use a lap top now for work.  Cancun, no thanks,  42 inch tv, no thanks got one thats hd, Myrtle beach condo is tempting for 2 weeks, but no thanks. Gimme Money, that's what I want....

Re: Hanna Montana

Auction them off on eBay to the highest bidder. You'll make out like a bandit. If you don't have an account, I'll do it for you. I owe you a FEW favors. Stub Hub is a good idea too.
They're owned by eBay I think.

You're sitting on a bag of money !

Re: Hanna Montana

Before I get credit for morals I don't have, lol, I see nothing wrong with "fair market price"..Auctioning is a good idea..you deserve a laptop..You're very good to all of us..in fact I hope you get extra for blank cd's, postage. etc..In a way, that's your Karmic reward..Sister Cate

Re: Hanna Montana

So after numerous e mails and opinions from friends and family I have decided to ask 600 for the 4 seats. I know they'll go fast and thats what I want. I really  want to put this behind me and put a few bucks in my pocket at the same time. They are going for 500 a seat on
e bay for seats that aren't nearly as good. So this way I can make some little girls day and not hurt the hard working parents. And go out and get a new lap top. Thanks for all your input.

Hope you can enjoy your new lap top soon;)

Re: Hanna Montana

UPDATE!    I just answered another e mail for the tix. This guy really laid out the big sob story. Don't want to get into the details but the bottom line is he offered 700 and I couldn't refuse after the story he told. So that's it folks,  Sorry to dissapoint anyone on here that wanted to go lol   Time to go lap top shopping.  Thanks for all the input.

Re: Hanna Montana

Good timing Jeff. The evening news did a show on the Baltimore show. Seems tickets sold out in minutes (upset girls and defeated parents paying BIG BUCKS)...In 1 state the State's Attorney General demanded the release of 1000 tickets that were reserved. Never discount the power of tweens!! There could be 2nd shows added?, that would change things....I'm going to change my ticketmaster alerts to include some tween stars! Who are they? lol   Cathy

Re: Hanna Montana

hahaha great story jeff.  the only question that remains for me is "who the hell is hanna montana?"  some pop singer i imagine.  i had heard the name i had no idea who it was, what outlet of entertainment she was in or that she was so popular.  think of those ticket prices.  hypothetically you just got at least 10 years worth of seeing joe 4 or five times a year.  seriously i am blown away.  and you were actually trying to be nice about it too wow you could have probably gotten way more if you waited.  remind me to start buying and selling hanna montana tickets i am truly amazed!  this is why i am going to try to get my kids if i ever have them away from pop music at a young age, that way i wont feel like a shitty parent when i say no i am not paying 600 dollars for you to see this person, instead ill give you a 20 dollar music history lesson.  priorities.  i just cant believe how some people's shows are in such high demand while other i can show up at the door and get a ticket right before the set starts.  truly amazing

Re: Hanna Montana

Hanna Montana is Billy Ray Cirus's kid. (achey breaky heart)I guess that's where she gets her musical genes. LOL
I really don't know much about her other than she has a show on The Disney channel where she plays 2 characters. During the day she's mild mannered Miley Cirus, normal 14 year old kid. But look out, at night she steps into a nearby phone booth and turns into HANNAH MONTANA, rock star.  Seriously it goes down something like that. (minus the phone booth)I don't have any kids of my own, just what I've learned after I bought these tix.
Yeah she creating quite a stir every city she hits. Tickets sell out in minutes, kids crying, parents upset at the ticket scalpers. That's the main reason I want these tickets gone. And so they are.....

My 2 girls are big fans of HM seen most of her shows on the diney channel[whats a dad gonna do] shes a 2007 version of a manufacured pop star, but for what its worth its great entertainment for my kids, better than all the hip hop they listen to on the radio. their mom has no problem playing the hip hop songs with lyrics that make me cringe when my 5 and 9 year olds are singing along.
