Topic: Syracuse.com review

I get the feeling this was written with one eye on the other critics and what they might think. Still not a bad review of the music itself: http://www.syracuse.com/entertainment/i … eview.html

No, honestly not.  However, reminder time, about not being able to serve two masters...

Why would he think he was being sarcastic when he said Happy Mother's Day?

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.

Sold out. I repeat Sold out. Night after night, World wide. Yet only Syracuse critics seem like THEY have the chip on their shoulders. I always get the feeling guys like this think we are blindly following Joe due to a lack of musical taste or knowledge. Well he can kiss my roo roo smile  Did we cause a rift last time? Good. Insult us and we're coming to get you and Joe will lead the way. wink
I know Joe has said he expects nothing else from upstate NY, but we know it does bother him. And why is this guy obsessed with speed?? Has he never seen Classical guitar playing? Did he leave the theater during the slow songs? "Showing off" !!! I think he should speak to a guitar player. In fact send one to do a pre-show interview. Then they'll understand Joe is a guitar geek and a perfectionist. Nothing complicated here. No devious mind manipulating his fans, just a true musician who lives and breaths it every day and looks at guitars the way many men, (this reviewer with the speed issues??) view porn. But, having said all this, the show was packed even after this alleged "big divide".  I'd say boycott the area but why punish the fans. Deep breathe.

I bet this "reporter" did not interview Joe. How does he assume how Joe feels or that Joe needs to prove himself without speaking with him? It's actually sad to be native to the area and each time you came to town to perform the local publications don't seem to have much nice to say ..other than "ability" or "speed". Remember Ms. Novak said Joe "lacked feeling" during his 2012 Landmark Theater performance.. based on what? Did she too not interview Joe? Her interpretation as a 20 something local reporter so completely differs from absolutely everybody in attendance. It was chance to get on a soapbox and stir a little s--t because a good review wouldn't create as much buzz ..would it? I am a huge fan of Joe and his music, so a review from me would be boring wouldn't it? I met Joe for the first time at the gig Saturday night and I met a few other band members as well, and I can say in all honesty that each one of them was extremely friendly, and humble. All Joe wants to do is play his music and have fun while doing it ..and I can assure anyone that he only wants all in attendance to enjoy his music and have a good time doing so. I hope that some of these local writers don't ruin the possibility of Joe not coming back to town in the future ..however it would make sense if he decided to just not want to deal with these writers and their antics. He is a kind soul with no malice in his heart ..why do these people in his backyard always seem to cut him down. They should praise him or just not go to the show! That is all.

Paraphrasing Ronnie Van Zandt,  "There's good people in Syracuse..."

Not even remotely half of one per cent should NOT be upsetting anyone.  And remember, some of us more accurately represent Joe's Backyard! big_smile

Never boycott Syracuse. yikes Please!!! It started there for me. cool cool Jest put me in charge of personally vetting (and Re-vetting lol) every single future Syracuse attendee.
Joe hopefully knows the score. More for than against by a ridiculous margin.

Sorry baiters, it's OUR line: We don't get fooled again!
