Hi Michael! Couldn't resist throwing my 2 cents in here for ya. Surprisingly nobody recommended Sons of Anarchy or as my friends and I call it The Sopranos in leathers. First season took a little time to find its direction, but by season 2 it was off to the races and I couldn't wait for Tue. nights to come around. If you like The Shield, you'll spot a lot of the characters in Sons. 2 others I highly recommend are Deadwood and Justified, you get Timothy Olyphant playing the sheriff/marshall in both. Another "bad cop" series is Cold Winter Sun, which has just completed its first season. A very dark and disturbing expose on the blight of Detroit. Last, but not least, an excellent show like nothing else on TV....Shameless with William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum. Just watch this one!!!!!

Yeah Thanks John, quite a few friends have said "Sons of Anarchy" is awesome, funny i watched alot of the first season, it was ok, but many have said its grown alot more and has many juicy side stories goin on, i saw the SOA Season 1-4 boxset quite cheap, so that will be purchesed as soon as i finish "The Shield" which i bought last week and got the complete boxset, its started off really well.

I have to say though i thought that "Breaking Bad" was so so Brilliant that its would never be beaten for pure storyline and gripping characters, it was just so addictive, But after watching and being completely blown away by  "The Wire" i have to say that series is like dknight16 said The Best TV Series Ever ! hands down storyline is so immense and the acting is like no other series let alone film, i urge everyone who has a dvd/blu ray to purchase "The Wire" and get drawn into this utterly awesome piece of TV, i could go on with superlatives, so many truly great stories and characters, i absolutely loved it, it is the Joe Bonamassa of TV, it kicks ****

ok onto "The Shield"

................. Michael

ps   John "Deadwood" does indeed look very good as does "Treme"

Have just finished "The Sopranos", what was that ending ?

Someone asked about the ending of the Sopranos....David Chase (producer) seems to hint at the inevitable death of Tony in that episode, probably while sitting in his booth with his family.

Hope that explains it.

Tony explained the ending earlier in the episode where he and Bobby were vacationing at a lake house. The 2 of them were out in a boat and the discussion lead to about being hit. Tony told Bobby, "you never see it coming." Sadly Bobby did see it coming when he was taken out at the hobby store buying train stuff. Apparently Tony didn't. That's the best explanation I have for the ending, but Journey playing it out????

While they were in that boat Bobby was telling Tony when you get "it" or get hit everything goes black, does that ring a bell? LOL

Sure does, just didn't remember the exact dialogue. At the time it didn't seem so significant.
