Topic: San Antonio Show Opinion

My Opinion of Joe Bonamassa in San Antonio,Texas at The Majestic Theater.
The Acoustic Set was amazing as I've already seen him on part of this tour, it was just as magnificent as the last time. The Electric Set was another story. I am not knocking the performance it was great but the guitars and almost the whole band were drowning out the vocals. Not to mention the idiots in the crowd that kept whistling and yelling crap like happy birthday even when Joe was shushing them in the intimate Guitar parts. Then they started whistling like birds. Joe said what is this? an effing birdcage. The Majestic is a fabulous place for a show and the acoustics are pretty darn good as opposed to the last time Joe was in San Antonio playing at The Colosseum which is like an Airline Hanger. At least when he played in the Airline Hanger we could hear his vocals. My question is: who runs the mixers and sound boards. Are they Joe's guys or are they the venues?
Whatever the case I believe they need to make some serious adjustments in the overall sound.
As far as the drunk **** San Antonio crowd is concerned they probably couldn't tell the difference anyway.

Oh my God, how rude is that? They were probably drunk.......that's the one thing I hate about going to shows. Jeez

Re: San Antonio Show Opinion

I've never understood why some feel the need to scream during the soft parts of a song.  During the Spokane show, several people from the front row got up and started dancing. Fortunately, security made them to sit down right away. At the Yakima show, there was one "anorexically challenged" lady that stood up and started dancing for several songs. Everyone else was seated. I'm sure the people sitting behind this behemoth appreciated having their view blocked.
I don't know if these people are being rude on purpose they simply don't know how to act in public.

Re: San Antonio Show Opinion

Lowered help us!!! People without proper public performance protocol permits! OH! OH! MY!!  Look out! OH MY!  Dancing in public!  Why the nerve!  Unafraid to flail fat flesh from within discomfort zones of non-acceptance! yikes

I guess tickets should have a fine print disclaimer then, huh?!  hmm roll

People in the front row getting up and dancing???!!! Criminy!!!!!!! I'd LOVE to see that become a regular and expected occcurance at every concert!  "...people everwhere just gotta be free."
"...and the band played ON!"

And, OH!  The original poster's review is good.  How to bring up a crticism with tact, sort of? The old "who's in charge of sound" huff?! neutral Nicely done. lol

Time 4 me 2 ease UP a few notches & Rock ON 'n' Keep the Faith,
