One of my favorites. Joe was talking about him as the "last bluesman". Try "Definition of a Circle" with Gary Moore on guitar.

I am a fan of Otis' music and have seen him perform many times as he is based here in Colorado. His trance blues approach is a unique one and is certainly not for everyone. Whereas I have been able to turn on most all of my friends to Joe and his music, trying to expose people to Otis' music has been much more of a mixed bag. While I enjoy his music a lot, the responses from a lot of people have been more around him being an acquired taste. In any case, I am happy to see Otis getting some love on here. I have, and enjoy, all of his recordings. if you like the banjo aspect you mentioned, you should check out his "Reclaiming the banjo" album. I also would recommend one of his more recent albums "my world is gone" which he did with Mato Nanji from Indigenous. You might also want to check out Otis' daughter. Her name is Cassie Taylor. She played bass and added vocals in her dad's band for a long time. She has recently put out a solo album that I enjoy also. Different from her dad's music, but very good. Happy listening.
his music totally blew me away.....when I watched tha the film, I knew I had to find out who did those songs and I've been checking out you tube as well.....love the fiddler also. Gravelly voice reminds me of dave van ronk if you know who he is. Great stuff
