I was so surprised when I tuned in briefly to see Florida getting beat up yesterday by a 16 seed. And if 'Nova plays like they did last night, even though they ended up winning by 20, they will be beat by UConn. If you just looked at the score and didn't see the game, you can't understand what I'm saying. How do 9 guys show up on a given day and no one can shoot a 3? Hopefully, they shook off their loss to Seton Hall and got their nerves worked out last night. wink

Have to give a shout out to another Philly team, St. Joe's for a valiant effort against UConn. They were winning most of the game, tied it up, didn't get a shot off, shot clock violation...then overtime. Best shooter fowled out...lost in overtime.

All the prognosticators had picked the Bison for the Cinderella upset. Hah!  X Thames put on a clinic and the Aztec's suffocating defense shut down the best offensive team in the NCAA. That's the game they play. Arizona or Gonzaga? Bring it on! It will be a home game for the Aztecs and I like their chances in Anaheim.

Good Luck to you. Not shocked about 'Nova, I was mentally prepared. We came out hot, the UConn coach adjusted, the rest is history. Hubby doesn't think Jay knows how to adjust, he always compares him to Andy Reid. Classic example is Creighton slaughtered us the first time, Jay didn't adjust anything to shut McDermott down second time, they beat us up bad. Providence beat Creighton in the Big East tourney, they won because the Providence coach probably studied our film and saw what Jay didn't do, Providence shut McDermott down.

I have nothing but respect for McDermott, I'll be keeping an eye on him. I didn't understand the recent Sports Illustrated cover with McDermott recently, until I read about it. Some are predicting he is like the next Larry Bird.

Now we level up to a much tougher task. The Zonies looked uber tough and deserving of that #1 for most of the season after taking apart Gonzaga yesterday. Nonetheless, the game is decided on the court and Coach Fisher, who's 69th birthday is today, feels the team is up to the task. Happy birthday Coach! I hope the team gives you a great gift.

According to the team, Aztecs got the matchup they wanted to play tonight in the Arizona Wildcats. Both teams have mutual respect in the rivalry which has two of the elite teams in the West playing in Anaheim, close enough for each to pack the stands with fans. It should be a dandy. Arizona has a better team on paper with one win the difference in the year's tally. That one win was the meetup at the beginning of the season and both teams are better than then. That game was close and turned on a couple of plays after the Aztecs came out cold and gave the early lead to Arizona. Expect a tough defensive game that may turn into a war. Both teams have size and quickness, edge in shooting to Arizona. Shepherd needs to get out of his slump, one of the bench shooters needs to get hot and X.Thames must play the game of his life for the Aztecs to prevail. I give the edge in coaching to Fisher.

A fantastic season for the Aztecs in a year that was supposed to be for rebuilding. Things are looking good next season with a 5 star recruiting class incoming.

This is the first time I entered a bracket on ESPN with a group. I'm winning with 2 of the 4 teams playing in the Final Four and no one can beat me at this point. Seems real funny to me and I picked winners and losers better than President Obama...imagine that! lol

It's been such a crazy season can't believe my Cats are in the Final Four! I have cussed the Harrison twins all year, so frustrated because they would drive it in and not pass it back out to open man or draw the foul and now they are the stars of the tourney!  Last year everyone kept saying "don't worry they'll be ready by tourney time". They weren't and lost in the 1st round of the NIT. This year every saying same thing just wait, give them time they'll be ready come March. We had some frustrating games and losses, our only win against ranked team was Louisville, I was on the hate the "one and done bandwagon"! I am happy to say I was wrong! This team got it together and will hopefully bring home another banner for Rupp Arena, just in time for Joe's show on April 25th!!!! Go Big Blue!!!!!
