Re: TULSA 10/06/07 ROLL CALL :) :) :)

I was going, but then ZZ Top and Robert Randolph were both hitting Fayetteville within three days of each other. Seeing as how I've seen Joe twice, and ZZ Top only once and never seen Robert Randolph, I'm going to be rocking out to a different beat this weekend. But look at it this way: it took two shows to make up for one Joe show.

I will be there, taking my two cousins who live in Tulsa to their first Joe show. Would love to say Hi to some of the "legends" on the board (PattyluvsJoe, photogal, Mr. & Mrs. Shred etc.) you guys are celebrities in my opinion.

My tickets are 2nd row seats 5,6,and 7 I think.

Hey misterlee,
How exciting, taking relatives for their first Joe show (now that's the kind of family to have).
Photogal and I will find you !!!  Who knows maybe we'll pass each other on the interstate,
hmmm.......maybe I should make a" Joe Bonamassa or Bust" sign for the car window.....and of course it would get people on the interstate buzzing about "Joe Bonamassa"  some free advertising smile   Safe travels to you........see you there wink     pattyluvsjoe

I can't blame you there Deezer.  Never seen either and definitely feeling a need (over just urge or plain desire) to check out Robert Randolph.
It's been "one of these days" for Ze Zee and me for 30 years...ALWAYS miss paths.  Shred & Mrs. Shredit, enjoy living on Tulsa time for a spell!

Re: TULSA 10/06/07 ROLL CALL :) :) :)

I just checked my tickets SEC. A ROW B seats 4,5,6

I'm already getting excited for the show! I think Tulsa will mark my 14th Joe show, with 3 more to go (Chicago,KC, St. Louis). You don't think seeing Joe 8 Times in one year is too much do you?

Re: TULSA 10/06/07 ROLL CALL :) :) :)

Shred, You will be in front of Rick. Sec A is Joe's side Sec B is Carmine and Rick's.
Deezer I was counting on you moving those cases and lifting those amps. Just kidding. Joe would approve of seeing Gibbons when you get the chance. Robert will be in Tulsa a couple of days later. School night so I won't be going. I saw him in 2002 ACL festival.

The only worries I have is how to see a little of the OU/Texas game that afternoon. After the Sooners laid down in Boulder I think they are going to be up to a little **** kickin on Beavo.

There will be a few forum lurkers as well in Tulsa. Mike W and family. The whole Keeley electronics gang. The Blues Society of Tulsa who have been wonderful enough to help promote this show. There will be an autographed Epiphone Les Paul given away to anyone joining or renewing their membership to the Blues Foundation or the Blues Society of Tulsa. If you are under 21 you can join the Blues Foundation for free which will make you eligiable for the guitar giveaway.

I'll be in Tulsa Saturday and then Dallas Sunday. Going to catch up with Phil and Janette.

LOL Yeah that was fun. We actually helped load Joe's guitar case, and I told my buddy, "If you drop this I'll kill you."

Re: TULSA 10/06/07 ROLL CALL :) :) :)

Nope Deez, bad mistake. Your name should be on this list to see Joe in Tulsa! ZZ Top, while great, are on the very bottom of the down slope of their career and performances. Great guys (Billy Gibbons actually acted as the reverend for Bonamassa friend Jim Suhler's wedding), but they'd understand you missing their show and seeing Joe. And Robert Randolph has some catchy songs and is quite a performer -- he ain't Joe. I'm sure he'd be at Joe's show in Tulsa if he wasn't working.....LOL. Rethink your strategy Deezer. We've seen Joe DOZENS of times and will catch a few more this weekend. Each time it's better, worth the money, and we NEVER feel like we'd have been better off somewhere else.

Deez, we realize that since we are lampooning your decision that this could turn into a John Mayer vs. Joe type thread with you strongly supporting your position.......and we probably couldn't "win" the war of words with you. However, Cain's Ballroom and Tulsa are mini-milestones for Joe and it'd be very helpful to sell this show out.  Your participation does matter -- and we don't want casual visitors to the forum to think there might be a better alternative.......

Enjoy!

Can we say mafia? lol jk Well first of all, I think the fact that it would take two shows from two of my absolute favorite bands of all time being much closer to me than Tulsa should say exactly what it would take to make me miss a Joe show. I think everybody knows where my feelings lie with regards to Joe.

I've already seen ZZ once. Enough to know I want to see them again. And again. And again. Like a fine wine, they only get BETTAH with age. I crank Mescalero as much if not more than Tres Hombres. Besides, I've got several friends just dying to see them, so we're going. And Robert Randolph, I've already missed him coming through here like 4 times. I'm determined to not let that happen again. After Joe, he's very close.

Also, we have to look at my job. I'm a resident assistant here at good ol' ATU, I have duty this weekend around the residence hall. I could only get someone to switch off with me on Friday, couldn't get Saturday done. So, it's either enjoy myself with ZZ and RRFB or not go to anything.

And if it'll make you feel better, I'm wearing my Joe shirt to the Robert Randolph show. smile Now, to combat this, I think I'll get to work on getting Joe to make a trip through Fayetteville to George's Majestic. Great venue to see a show. Johnny Winter's played there, saw him back in August, that's where I'm seeing RRFB, and I know for a fact that Eric Johnson and Robert Cray have played there.

I tend to love a lot of music. I get just as excited when I find out Joe Bonamassa's going to be somewhere as I do when Robert Randolph or ZZ Top or Kenny Wayne Shepherd or Chris Duarte or Derek Trucks. To me, Joe is at the top of a very long list of people that I go apes**t over. So, and this may rile a few, but many of you will be okay with it: is there a lot of good alternatives to Joe? HECK YES. He ain't the only thing going, in fact, if I only listened to him, I would grow tired of Joe very quickly. Same with Stevie, same with ZZ, same with Slowhand. It's the other artists that allow me to come back to Joe and go, "Damn, this guy is good!" The two Joe shows I've been to are two of the best concerts I've been to EVER. But did I enjoy myself any less or was less amazed when I saw ZZ Top? Or KWS? Or BB King? Or Buddy Guy? Nope. Because pure genius is what I see in all the artists you ever see me post about. Joe just might be a little more geniuser. smile Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to get ready to have a "Party on the Patio" with that Lil' Ole Band From Texas. But darnit, I got one more class. Oh well. A HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW.

Oh, and one more thing: I do a radio show on campus radio, and guess who I've been playing quite a bit of?

Re: TULSA 10/06/07 ROLL CALL :) :) :)

I will be there tomorrow with my mom, sister, 3 friends, and 1 coworker.

I'm in Sec A, Row B, seats 9 or 10.  My friend and his wife will be in seats 7 and 8, right next to misterlee.

Does anybody know if Joe will be going to Arnie's pub, McNellie's pub, or anything like that after the show?  Robert Plant went to Arnie's the night before he played at the Cain's a few years ago.

I'd like to meet Joe and maybe have him sign a pickguard for me.

SHRED ALERT FOR THE TULSA AND OUTLYING AREAS. Should you cross his path it is best to keep him well hydrated with an amber fluid that comes in a green receptacle labeled Heineken. If he appears hungry toss him in a room with 15-20 tacos this will appease him momentarily till the tacos run out. REMEMBER!!! you CAN'T STOP him you can only hope to contain him, just point him in the direction of a Joe Bonamassa show and everything will work out right.

Re: TULSA 10/06/07 ROLL CALL :) :) :)

Allright, allright , I'm trying to stay undercover! Got into town testerday, went to the state fair, and got me some tasty southern rock, local band I think. At the same time, the Yankee game was on the T.V. next to the stage, too bad the wrong team won, sorry their name escapes me?? Drove by Cains Ballroom, looks mighty old, think me and Mrs. Shred will have a smokin good time!! Almost 12 noon, time to fire up the beer belly. One last thing, was at the fair, and got to meet Billy Sims, he won the heisman trophy in 78, wish I had a camera, my Okie neighbor probably wont forgive me or believe me. Oh yeah, I just found some forum members in this hotel, Photogal (Rhonda) and Pattyluvsjoe (Patty) are here also, a couple of minutes talking and there like sisters. Man I hope they dont take my picture, there both strapping killer cameras, and I am not real pretty....lol...Shred is out!!!
