Topic: Yakima, WA 3/27 - Who's Going? We've Got 2 Extra Tickets

Hard to believe but its just a few weeks away, March 27 at the Capitol Theater, and Laurie and I are getting pumped up.

We've got 2 extra tickets if anyone is considering going - lower balcony section, Row BB, seats 13-14.   We were planning to take a couple we know but a conflict came up on their calendar, so the tickets are available.

Plan for us is to head over early on Thursday, stay at the Hilton Garden Inn (just 1/2 blocks from the venue), then an easy ride home Friday.

We're getting excited as well. We see Joe in Spokane on the 25th and then Yakima on the 27th. 4th row, center at each venue. I wouldn't be surprised if the fall tour includes the Seattle Paramount again. If so, we'll be there.

Re: Yakima, WA 3/27 - Who's Going? We've Got 2 Extra Tickets

That's sounding like a great plan, jwd.   I'm hoping for Seattle in the fall too.   Maybe another West Coast trifecta - Seattle, Portland, and ????

Re: Yakima, WA 3/27 - Who's Going? We've Got 2 Extra Tickets

Hey jwd, I've got 2 tickets third row center for Yakima!

Re: Yakima, WA 3/27 - Who's Going? We've Got 2 Extra Tickets

Man, how did you guys scores such sweet tickets?   Laurie and I managed 4th row front and center last year in Eugene, and once we experienced THAT, anything else is not quite the same.   But we couldn't get anything good for Yakima even though we jumped on them as soon as they went on presale.....

But hey, ANY seat at a Joe show is better than just about any other concert experience :-)

Your Trifecta trip last year is what gave me the idea to see Joe in Spokane and then Yakima on the way home. Too bad Joe is heading east to Boise after Yakima instead of continuing west. Last year our friends from Spokane came over to see Joe with us at the Paramount. It was their first time and they were totally blown away. The only problem was that they had to go home by way of the Columbia River Gorge because of the snow at Snoqualmie pass. Hopefully we, and you, don't have any problems heading home after Yakima.

Great sadness, I can't make it to Yakima. 3rd row center tickets for sale.

Re: Yakima, WA 3/27 - Who's Going? We've Got 2 Extra Tickets

Ouch, Skamokawa, that's a real bummer!   If we needed tix I would be snapping those up ASAP.   Looks like we may end up just offering our 2 extras to someone outside the show.    Hard to see seats go to waste at a Joe show, but. . . .

Re: Yakima, WA 3/27 - Who's Going? We've Got 2 Extra Tickets

Hey guys....I'll see you there...Bummed for Skamokawa not being able to take advantage of those primo seats...I will be making use of my front row ones, however!! Kent can't make it this year, so I'm bringing my friend Daron instead...If anyone decides on a pre meeting place to get some food and beverage before the show...let me know...Look forward to seeing all the regulars...this was a fantastic show on the last tour.....I'm heading to Boise afterward...long way from Salem, Oregon...but, for Joe, a 4 hour drive followed by another 5 hour drive is nothing...especially considering his road prowess! I'm proud to say this will be show 10 and 11 for the Murfdog...I feel exteremely lucky...The people that like Joe are great folks with good taste in music, I've never had worse than 3rd row seats, I've met Joe 7 times and have signed photos with him....Kent and I lead his street team promos in Oregon, because we believe in him so much...and this is all because Joe is such a nice, grounded, humble, giving person...and he and his band are incredible...I'll say it again...the closest thing to LZ since LZ...Thanks, Joe !! Looking forward to the near perfection that one of your live shows delivers

Murfdog, that's some serious dedication on your part!   I think Laurie and I are only up to - lets see - 6 shows so far, plus Yakima coming up.   But since that only started in December 2011 I think we are doing pretty good on a "shows per year" basis :-)

My suggestion for pre-concert is Second Street Grill, its just a few blocks from the venue and good food and lots of good beers, etc.    http://secondstreetgrill.com/

I'll have to check with the "better half" but it sounds good to me. I can give you a review of the Spokane show at that time.

MurfDog is a Serious Blues Fan.

We met on the Front Row at Medford Show-Sold Out about 5 years back.

We brought 6 BonaVirgins, and they thank us on a regular basis, for introducing such a Great Talent to them.

He is a wealth of knowledge, on JBB, and he does travel his butt off, to experience Joe Shows.

Cheers Murfdoggie!

I remember that night so well....It was magically delicious ! It reminds me of the look people...now me as well....give people who are seeing Joe for the first time. As he finished with "Asking Around for You" I remember feeling so sad because the show was over...but so blown away...I could barely talk....Freakin' SWEET!!

I can't believe nobody snapped these up! I would have been on it, but I promised to buy someone else's tix before I heard about yours. sad

Re: Yakima, WA 3/27 - Who's Going? We've Got 2 Extra Tickets

No problem Kat, the venue is going to take care of them! Capitol Theater= GREAT people!!!

Re: Yakima, WA 3/27 - Who's Going? We've Got 2 Extra Tickets

And a great show it was.  Laurie and I were at Second Street Grill before the show and had the pleasure of meeting JWD and LadyJWD (aka Jim and Leanne), who had been to the Spokane show and who initially mistook me for Murfdog (I was honored! big_smile) Then my friends Dan and Robin showed up, Bonavirgins who were willing to come over to Yakima and check out this guitarist that Laurie and I are always carrying on about . . . smile   I don't think they regretted making the trip!

So we headed over to the Capitol and yours truly got a photo of everyone ready to head in:

And the show was fabulous - tight, smooth, intense playing by Joe, who seemed very cool, in command, and on his game all the way, and his singing was the best I've heard in recent shows.  Top notch stuff.  And of course the band was right there too, with great performances from all involved.  Murfdog's setlist and review from another thread here cover it all.

My only complaint was that the volume was just too much, at least for me sitting in the front of the balcony in line with the big vertical array; all that clean, accurate playing by Joe and the band, and great vocals, were often just lost in the "wall of noise" effect.    Wish the volume could have been a couple notches lower.  Maybe it was OK for everyone else, I don't know.   I guess that's what earplugs are for  . .  hmm

If you have a chance to see Joe on this tour, DO IT - a master at the top of his game.
