I will post a review later when less busy. Same acoustic set list as Dusseldorf but different electric set owing to guest appearance from Henrik Freischlader.
I just loved the 45 minute acoustic set and so did the musicians. Special mention must be made for the versions of Black Lung Heartache, Up around the bend & Athens to Athens. Very appreciative crowd, Joe said there was 2,500 but it seemed to be more.
The electric set opened with Dust Bowl and then a new song - Oh Beautiful. The song structure reminded me of Zepp's Black Dog and would fit in perfectly at Joe's festival appearances. The voice of Howlin Wolf introduced Who's Been Talking and then it was the turn of Midnight Blues - an exquisite version as usual. Slow Train and DTTD followed then Henrik Freischlader came on stage for an extended version of another new song - Love ain't a long song. Don't know about that but the song clocked in at nearly 15 minutes. See Eva's video posted elsewhere.
Joe's guitar solos on Sloe Gin & John Henry were off the wall at times and totally mesmerising. Different song arrangements again. By the time the encore came round, the audience were on their feet and deservedly so. The 2 hrs and 15 mns had flown by. The band are firing on all cylinders and I love the enthusiasm and playing of Lenny Castro. I thoroughly enjoyed my first Joe concert in Germany and want to thank Thomas again for his company and transport.
Also good to meet Eva, Ben & Angela. Until the next time.
not much to aid what kenny said. for me lenny castro on percussion was a real highlight. a guy who allways moves and allways got the rythm, fantastic to watch him and moreover everything he did was very good to hear through all the other instruments.
accoustic set for me was bit to long, but thats just my thing. there were great wonderfull parts in there but some others were a bit tiring for me.
electric set was a burner. like kenny said midnight blues was played with such an intensity and again sloe gin has changed a little with spectecular solo at the end.
another highlight was the guest appearence of henrik fleischlader, they really rocked together, starting slow and easy and getting to the top with the time. great show.
joe really has a big and great band behind him now.
nice to meet some of the forum members that i have seen the first time. the nice thing is, its like we knew each other much longer allready.

Thank you so much for posting that, Dave! And thanks to your friend as well! Awesome video! Love the jam between Joe and Henrik. Looks like Joe was having such a great time!
I enjoyed the 3rd time an acoustic part in the 7 JB evenings which I attended. But I personally prefered the powerful electric set most of all Slow Train and Sloe Gin.
Not only Joe's epic and outstanding playing but his deeply impressing singing must be mentioned. He always stroke the right note!
The local newspaper praised the quantity of the material, the quality of Joe's performance and mentioned that sometimes the sound in the electric set overroled the singer ("moderate sound").
All in all again it was an unforgettable megaevent for us guitar lovers. Having met our Thomas (Ophrys) and other fans was the social event of the JB evening. Unfortunately I didn't meet Kenny maybe the next time being in concert at the same location ...
