Airportdon / fellow Pittsburghers, anyone planning on going to Experience Hendrix Tour on March 20 at the Benedum?  Quite the line-up.

(Saw KWS in Homestead with The Rides last fall.  Hope he can show off his talent here better.)

Actually starting with my last concert, since Ive sucked at posting lately.   Savoy Brown at the Coach House. Great blues show. A lot from their new album and just a few of the "usual suspects" (Hellbound Train, Tell Mama obviously). Pat DeSalvo is a great fretless/upright bass player, along with some fretted, and lots of fun to watch.  As posted in "what Im listening to" the new album is a return to the original Savoy Brown "Chicago blues" style, with some delta and Texas blues thrown in. Kim's singing isn't powerful by any means, but pleasant with some Mark Knopfleresque phrasing and tone in the lower registers.

Next up, and Im sooo excited...two nights of ZPZ, first in LA and then in San Diego, 2/8 and 2/9.

Been sold out for a couple of months, but managed to get tickets for Chantel McGregor supported by the intriguingly names Nena In The Red Sky.  Jan 31st.

Tomorrow evening I'm looking forward to seeing a young female German guitarist called Yasi Hofer playing at Betty's Kult Bar here in the depths of rural Bavaria. She was taken under Steve Vai's wing at the age of 14 and has just released her first CD. Here's a link to her website, including video of her playing with SV.

Just back from a concert of the Dutch band "Maison du Malheur".
They got the audience swinging with their music between old swinging jazz and new rock'n roll !!!
At the end of the concert the keyboard died ... pas de malheur ... they invited the audience to follow into the dressing room where they played some acoustic songs without amps and microphones but with a piano ... awesome :-)
Great evening. Concert got me swinging into the weekend ....
