Re: AC/DC New World tour 2014

Sorry, no tour in 2014but this is the official message from  Chris Dalton from CAA the representive of AC/DC:

Several South America sites have published an AC/DC world tour in 2014 but I can assure you it is fake.............

First I hear a tour, 10 minutes later; No tour..........

Re: AC/DC New World tour 2014

Was supposed to happen in 2013 but rumour is that Malcolm has alzheimers - hope its not true though.

Re: AC/DC New World tour 2014

lets hope the tour rumours are untrue, they should have retired 30 years ago

But I recently watched live from the river plate and they still rock better than most bands, zimmer frames not yet required. lol

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: AC/DC New World tour 2014

Why retire when millions still love them and have so much fun seeing them live. Don't understand Roger. The bands are there for the people not only for the reviewers.

Just a little joke there Roger. I for one hope they don't retire, only seen them once on the Stiff Upper Lip tour. I can understand if they don't want to tour, but they could still do the studio thing and make a few more CDs. Maybe one more farewell tour around the planet would do it.

Re: AC/DC New World tour 2014

Warning confession time here.... a few years ago now when AC/DC were touring for Black Ice I had a choice; buy tickets to take my son to his first Hammersmith Odeon gig to see Joe or tickets for AC/DC at some large venue that I cannot recall now. I choose Joe.

For me growing up AC/DC were the band that influenced and gave me more enjoyment than any other, - seeing them as a 14 year old a few rows from the front at Hammersmith Odeon with Bon was one of those life changing moments, - seeing Brian come out in 1980 and hit that bell was another one, but then they got bigger and played Wembley Arena, the connection was gone, a short while on it was Donington Monster of Rock and it was even more remote. I was lucky I had been spoilt, - I saw them in the early days and was blown away with Angus, and how the other band members gave him room to perform.

They possibly are one of the best live bands ever, but just cannot help but think that if I went to see them now I would be trying to recapture my long lost youth and they could never live up to what I had been part of back in 1978/9/80 and on. In saying that I would go if this was a farewell tour, but I know that there would be part of me that would be sad, sad for ageing, mine and theirs. I really hope that Malcolm has not got what is rumoured, - for me he was the linchpin of the band, - he as the older brother did what many would never have been able to do, - he stood back and gave Angus the backbone to riff and solo off of.

- sorry, a bit serious and nostalgic here smile

No apologies necessary Ian. I have passed on a few for the same reasons. Well said.

Re: AC/DC New World tour 2014

Oh yes! I'm a massive AC/DC fan.

I'm broke, motherf**ker!

Re: AC/DC New World tour 2014

I have not seen AC/DC yet, that is still on my to do list. So if they ever do tour again, I'll bite the ticket price and see them. I did that several years ago for Aerosmith. I had sorta nose bleed seats, but it was well worth the $90!

Re: AC/DC New World tour 2014

I heard that AC/DC reveal plans for new album and 40th anniversary world tour and they has great plans.

Re: AC/DC New World tour 2014

A few weeks ago, I'm certain I heard AC/DC & Glastonbury in the same sentence, but whether that was "are playing" or "should be playing" I wouldn't like to say.

Probably moot now with tickets already long sold-out with only Arcade Fire, Dolly Parton, Lilly Allen, Disclosure & Blondie confirmed.

Re: AC/DC New World tour 2014

I read last year on the web an interview of Angus Young saying that they were working on a new album and that a tour would follow. This year i read that a tour was planned for the end of the year. With some friends we are on the starting blocks to get tickets for Belgium and Holland.
The rumours are persistant....So i guess there's no smoke without fire.... tongue cool
