Topic: Joe Cocker

Joe is coming home (you've had him too long over the pond) and doing a gig at Sheffield Arena 15th December.
World class act on his home turf - not to be missed. I have my tickets in row 8 of a huge indoor arena venue centre stage. Really looking forward to it. Just hope we don't get the usual girls who have to be hoisted up on their boyfriends shoulders because their view is more important than anyone elses. That really gets me mad !!

I last saw Joe Cocker at Sheffield City Hall (2,000 venue) and it was an amazing experience.

Anyone else have experience of JC ?

My current ticket stash is now

Re: Joe Cocker

Jes I saw Joe two times quite a long time ago in San Francisco. The first time was about 1969 not long after Woodstock and I'd never heard of him since the movie hadn't been released yet. This was also during my friends and mines psychedelic drug experimentation period which is critical to telling this story. Joe was the opening act of three for that nights show at the Fillmore West and he comes out and just rips it from the git go, however my buddies and I are trippin' our nuts off and when Joe starts doin' all those spastic gyrations he used to do we thought about just running out of the place. Just a little too bizarre for the moment. The other gig was at Winterland with Leon Russell and The Mad Dogs & Englishman tour. This didn't turn out well either as Joe was at the peak of his drinking period and kept running to the side of the stage and puking. Strange night, but Leon kept us entertained, still wild and crazy memories I cherish.

Re: Joe Cocker

I saw Joe Cocker open for the Guess Who two weeks after 9/11. It was an amazing show. Joe is an outstanding performer, he really pours his soul into his songs.

I believe The Guess Who had their original line up. It was awesome! They rocked the house, especially when they did American Woman to a backdrop of American flags.

Re: Joe Cocker

Saw Joe Cocker open for Tina Turner about 5 years ago in Minneapolis - he was
fantastic and his band was great too.  Have fun!
