Re: To all the Newbies

Hello,

My name is Dave and I got back to the states after spending most of the last 10 years in Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt and the Horn of Africa chasing bad guys. Anyway, I was doing some searches for Guitar players, looking for guys like Steve Via and Joe Satriani and Joe B came up. I checked him out and wow!!! I wish Stevie Ray Vaughn was around to jam with Joe. That would be a blast. Anyway, back in the states for good. My helo and gun days are over. The show at Tempe U in Philly was great!!

Keep it going Joey!

Hey Peter, I found this a bit poignant...when I first joined the Forum I was terribly insecure and you were one of the very first to welcome me, and you gave me this same guidance.  What goes around comes around, in this case, nothing but good stuff.  I will always appreciate and remember your warm greetings back then!!

Oh shucks, I think I am blushing. Seriously, thanks though. I always enjoyed a friendly reply when I first joined. It isn't always easy to fit in at first and we should all remember that at times. big_smile big_smile  big_smile

My name is Randy, I'm in my 60's and had the opportunity to see many of the greats in music over the years
such as Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Clapton and Stevie Ray to name a few.
I first caught Joe Bonamassa on Palladia about 3 years ago, he blew me away, what an incredible talent, it's rare
to see anyone play guitar and sing so well. I have become a huge Bonamassa fan, in fact he is my favorite all time musician.
He's coming to my city in December and can't wait to see the master in concert.
Bless you Mr Bonamassa,
Randy

Re: To all the Newbies

Cathy you were involved in a chat with quiet a few folks back in June '06 regarding a blues guitarist Vincent Converse.    I am Vince's girlfriend for about 3 years now.  Yes with no doubt Vince has struggled with some drug issues.  Now Vince is clean and sober and works the program everyday along with his construction job.  But now I would love for everyone to know that Vince is playing in a gig this coming Saturday Nov 16th Here in Houston, TX at a place called the Countyline.  This will be Vince's debut of his musical career comeback!!!!!!  I personally want to thank everyone who throughout the years have continued to listen to his music and have often wondered what happened and where is he.  Well, He is Here in H town and he is back for good this time and he is very excited about what the future may hold for him and his musical talent, he is one of the best guitarist I have ever heard and those were my beliefs long before we became involved.  He actually recorded a CD around years ago in NYC with some of blues/rocks most well know musicians but for some reason it was set on and is still being set on he has not even been allowed a copy but cannot divulge to much more about that. Again thanks to all that have been wondering where, what and when and please know that When is Now

Re: To all the Newbies

Goodbody every evening! Been a fan of Joe's since the release of his third album. Been to so many concerts I've lost count - at least 3 a year -  but last Friday's set at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California was his absolute best EVER! The acoustic portion (45 mins) was a priceless concert unto itself. I've watched the Vienna concert on PBS many times, but the depth of the sound from the live stage left my TV sounding pathetic. Also, I FINALLY got to meet Joe before the concert (fifth try, long story) and the resulting picture is my avatar. I got that personalized plate 10 years ago with the sole purpose of getting Joe to autograph it, and I finally made it happen! Not sure what I'm gonna tell the DMV wink

Re: To all the Newbies

What a sweet photo you have there! So glad you finally got to meet him! smile

Make sure you laquer the plate over the signature. Joe has autographed mine twice because it washes off. Welcome to the forum. (My Cali plate says JOEBROX)

Hi there!  Well apparently I have been living under a rock!  I'm a huge blues fans and have only recently discovered Joe.  I'm so impressed with him, his music, his attitude and he's adorable to boot!

I love his song happier times, and I know it's about something that wasn't good.  I'm not nosy, but I can't help wondering what happened!  Any ideas???
