Rick
I looked for you during intermission and afterwards.
Highest seats once again. Only the 2 spotlight operators, who had to climb ladders to get to their platform, were higher. Proof of two things. San Diego Arena is truly, sonically, a worthy venue, which, hopefully, city dickers won't try to raze one day in a fell swoop (trust me "they" have bulldozers on the brains for the Sports Arena-Midway-Dutch Flats areas!!! ). Even though the outside is round, the arena interior itself is oval, which has some advantages, if exploited, over a perfectly round room. Anyway, additionally, the arena has definitely had major acoustic retrofitting, not sure when, or the full computational and structural details, but definitely reworking the "back" wall uppermost area where I was, where I could see the necessarily steps taken, and they are commendable for sure! Nicely done. Secondly, good sound available at the "worst" and "cheapest" location can occur. (Zoom on video makes objects appear closer than they actually were, however ).
Crème de la crème for myself this night, were;
"Stones In My Passway" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n977VceVtY
...and an incredibly ambient, ethereal, otherwordly, "Midnight Blues;"
