"I am at Methodist hospital with my husband and there is a man here with his wife.  Her lungs are rejecting and she most likely will die.  This is the only song he can listen to right now.  Sometimes such a simple melody can speak volumes!"

The above quote is from a very interesting woman I met at the hospital the past few days while my wife was ill.  Her husband was in the ICU and she was staying in the Atrium on my wife's floor where it was quieter.  What she said is true and the song she's referring to is "Clementine" by Lincoln Durham.  I didn't have the time nor the interest to listen to anything else.  From the first listen I just locked onto it.  The genders don't match up for my situation, but it's evident in its simplicity that it speaks to a breaking heart.

Re: Message from Curby

Scott - My deepest condolences.  May she rest in peace

Re: Message from Curby

Curby,
Mere words alone cannot express the utmost and sincere sorrow and sympathy that I have for you and yours. Although we have not physically met, I feel that you and most everyone here on the forum are an important part of my life. I honestly would exchange some of my personal family for just about anyone here so your pain is mine and ours. God bless you and your son Scott and R.I.P Mitzi.

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Re: Message from Curby

My deepest deepest sympathies for your loss Scott.I know from your past posts how deeply you loved each other.

Re: Message from Curby

Scott, so sad to hear this. I don't have any magical words, hold your head up and go forward as best you can. I will pray that you can work through it with minimal pain.

Re: Message from Curby

Trying to get caught up on events when I came across the terrible news about Mitzi. I am still weeping from Rocket's beautiful post, but wanted to add my voice to the chorus of those offering Scott and all those who are grieving with him our thoughts and prayers...

Re: Message from Curby

I am so very sorry.

Re: Message from Curby

Scott I am so sorry although we have never met I understand what you and your family are going through. I lost my wife, my soul mate, Cindy in Aug of 2010 to colon cancer after a 20 month battle. My prayers go out to you and your family. Like you I was by her side till her last breath helping her to the other side.
I offer you my prayers and what has helped me…..
>>>>I talk about her often, I think of all the wonderful things we have done and how she would want me to carry forward.
>>>>I keep my two kids so very close
>>>>I found my past love of music and dove back into to it full tilt thanks to the inspiration of Joe B who I am now proud to call my friend, I know that is what she would want me to do for that is how we met so many years ago. I know with all the things that has happened to me over the past three years she is looking down and making many wonderful things to occur. My angel in heaven
>>>>I have been focusing my efforts using music to raise money for colon cancer reshearch, I am working on a blues CD.
>>>>I have been trying to give back to inspire the young to embrace the Rock/Blues that I so deeply love
>>>> Basically for me I am trying to do my best to make a positive influence in this world for as long as I have because I have been so blessed to have my wife Cindy for the 40yrs that God has allowed me to. We met in high school in 1973.
>>>>Time??? well time will pass but I can honestly say that the pain from the hole in my heart is still there but now that I have a
mission with her in mind time has smoothed out the edges. The pain will always be there the key for me is to try to do something positive.
Lastly I offer if you would like to talk sometime just shoot me a email via this forum.
God bless you and your family I am so sorry for your loss.
Sincerely Ron

Re: Message from Curby

What a great post Cindyron. Great respect for what you do with your life after Cindy passed away. Will be very supporting for Curby.

Thanks, makes my day. There are more good than bad people around, though the media wants you to believe otherwise.

Re: Message from Curby

I have to agree, beautifully said Ron and incredibly uplifting. I lost my ex wife last year to cancer, it was tough because we were so close in her later years. All I could do was to be there for my children. I still miss her and think about her a lot.
