#4 Drums no offense intended as the beat is super solid. Almost like it was scratch pad tracked first and it is just right for tracking over. No matter, since it was recorded live, I'll be honest, I think they (or everything if you feel the urge for a retake) need re-tracking with a little "human error" (aka risk taking) and definitely a little more flair. I was wond'ring if it was software loops, since I listen before reading...You know nowadays we (me) often cannot tell if it is live or "memorexceteraified" The main thing is you singing and playing are SUPERB. In my opinions... Overall, everyone good job.Rock ON & Keep the Faith,
Rocketits funny you should say that, because usually Jamie is the biggest risk taking drummer I know.... This was just the only take we did live in the studio and our headphone mixes weren't too great so I could doubt if he could really hear what I was doing. Retracting isn't an option as we played without a click.
Look at our version of White Room on www.youtube.com/stefanhaukguitarist and you'll see what he's really like.
But thanks for your kind words!
Ah yes, the headphone mix aka "if I can't have my way with the mixing console......." bit where live can become a bit detached. That's the word to use then. Rhythm section detached. It's fair to say your are the best player in the room, I am sure they know that, and no offense, your guys have very very good talent too. Your voice and playing are telling you to bring it full bore foot through the floorboards. You should be saving your money with a 50-50 split between upgrading your gear and a savings account to get yourself to the US of A...you too can be free. If you are brave.
Yes, White Room for me was always Ginger Bakers playing fantastic and dominant, followed by Eric's mind-blowing wah, and then the whole thread of it Jack Bruce's cool playing and singing wonderfully those weirdly mesmerizing lyrics...nice job by him, once again, you, as usual. Push!

I am nowhere near the same level of talent as the people in my backing band.... They just play a great supportive role. Damien the bass player is rated by Todd Rundgren as his favourite bass player in the world. And Jamie on drums is of the same calibre. When these guy unleash it's scary, trust.
Here is Jamie taking a drum solo in this song with one of his former bands:
And here is Damien playing a bass solo:
I have basically the most respected rhythm section in Adelaide.... I'm very lucky.
Cheers,
Stefan.
