Re: San Diego, Dec. 14
Can't wait. Saw him at The Pearl in Vegas. It's been a long 8 months since. Hope the acoustics hold up in the old Sport's Arena. Is it cool to crash the party at Chili's for us newbies?

Come on Down! All are welcome.
I wish I lived out there.I checked tickets this morning and they had some good ones up close.
Enjoy the last show of 2013
Jon
I m going to be there with my wife and two friends who have never seen Joe. Finally I using my 4 free tix with meet and greet from when I bought Joe's Blue and Evil Litho #55.
I'm not sure what time we will be able to get down there, traffic permitting. We will try to get there to hang out with you all. Chilie's, right?
I was gonna try and make it an overnighter since the hubby and I will be celebrating our 28th anniversary Sunday, but we don't have a built in dog sitter any longer since the youngest moved out, so we will be going home after the show. I have been looking for ward to this for months and am pretty excited. It's been too long since the last time I saw Joe.
See you soon.
Hope we cross paths my friend. I just saw the real floor plan. Configured for 2/3 arena and not 1/3 as thought. My oh my, that is a lotta fans because 2/3 arena cap with floor is about 10,000! I hope the street teaming we did pays off. I pray they sort the sound.

OK, Chilis will not accept reservations but show up. We are planning on arriving early, like 530 and there will be near 20 of us for sure. Just come in and find the riot of fans.
As Rocket correctly stated, Chili's does not do reservations although they led me to believe they would but I think I was just being blown off. Regardless, I just spoke to Rick and we are going to gather at Chili's at 5:30 anyway. I looks like we may have roughly 20 folks so we'll do our best. I look forward to seeing whoever can make it. This tour is absolutely amazing so far. Suzie and I have been the past two nights (Santa Barbara and LA) and all we can say is "Wow!". I don't know how Joe and the boys keep doing it as we are tired just from chasing them up and down the coast .
I got to Chili's early and had a set up table spread for 20. We filled it. Met Lenny Castro and his wife at the will call window and had a bit of a chat. Very nice man!
Ran out to the car to get a signed photo for a pal and saw LisaG , Johnny the Shu and Aussie Meats at the head of the line to get in.
Once in, the show was fantastic, sound excellent where I was sitting back a dozen rows on the left floor. Keith Scott guested on Yonder's Wall. I got vid of that and will have it up tomorrow. Missed a few of the folks, libby was there I heard. Rocket not to be seen. I have his BonaVegas wine aging and waiting.
Hell of a year it's been. 13 shows and Joe must be tired of seeing my mug in the crowd.
Thank you Joe, the bands and crew. This is the best act going. Many comments after the show emphatically proved that as everyone was blown away. I don't know how Joe will top this year but I'll sure be glad to find out.

Just curious...did anyone feel screwed on the ticket situation? I bought on the first day of pre-sale last April and asked for best available. I got what showed as side stage fairly close. Turns out they were actually far far back corner. The setup was obviously reconfigured at some point. Worst seats in 13 years and more than 30 shows. Odd Joe's people would allow those kind of games to be played. As I almost always do I took two newbys and I was quite embarrassed by the crappy seats.

I heard there was a huge block of seats reserved for the PBS promo and those were primo and right down front. In the future I'm going to get PBS seats since it is a guarantee of good location and worth the extra cost. The first few rows were reserved for premium donors that coughed up a $1200 donation for the annual drive with a combo meet and ticket deal. Too rich for my blood but San Diego is a wealthy city and there are those that can. The original seating chart was wrong at first and they may have reconfigured it midsale as well. My comp seats were back on the floor side and not the greatest either since we couldn't see Joe most of the time due to some huge guys in front of us. That is a minus for a venue like that with non sloped floor seating, but I could hear it fine which was my main concern. Hats off to the sound crew for taming that beast.
It was so nice meeting up with Bona buddies old and new at Chilies. But ask me the names of most and I would fail at remembering. Good drink, good food and good friends before the show was a great start to the evening.
Our tickets were LL23, row 8. Pretty good seats. I went into the ticket system a couple of times before I settled on what we got. The hubby thought they were too expensive, but it was my mad money and don't spend this much ususally on concert tickets. We had a small issue in our section. About halfway through the 2nd set a couple decided to stand up and dance blocking some of the view other around them. They wouldn't sit down and were very distracting as their writhing together was well, they needed to go get a room. Someone finally got an usher and they were escorted away.
My acoustics were ok. I could hear but could of been better. Can't expect perfect considering the venue. That being said, the whole evening was an orgasm to my ears. Especially Midnight Blues. The universe operates on vibrations and Joe has harnessed sweet vibrations for the ears. It enters my ear canal and vibrates the little bones and sensors to send messages to the pleasure center of my brain. I can see why some become emotional to the point of tears or become completely addicted to the music.
Rick, PBS is how I got my tickets for the SD show but I didn't pay anywhere near $1200.00. I paid $300.00 which really wasn't much more than face value on the tix. I was really happy with the sound next to the stage but my brother and sister in law were up high and said they had a very hard time hearing the vocals. I really despise the Sports Arena for concerts but I'll go anywhere to see Joe and the boys. . Suzie and I had a blast at Chili's before the show too. Can't wait for next year.
A copy and paste from my younger son Peter's email to me. (I treated him and his wife Anne to the show)
We had a great time, thanks again! We really liked the acoustic set he did, and the variety of instruments all the other band members played. During the electric set, Anne and I looked at each other a few times in amazement hearing Joes playing, talent beyond words.

edit: John, the $1200 was for the meet/greet and front row seating in the PBS high roller package.
New to the forum and my first post here. I just attended my first concert seeing JB..amazing live performance Saturday night in San Diego.
I too was disappointed with the seats location considering they were purchased back in April....made the best of it and really dug the show. A more intimate seat likely would have made the vastness of a large arena disappear.
Where might I find a setlist of the 12/14/2013 show? or better yet a recording? Thanks for the help.
Can't wait for the next show I'll see (benefit show on 1/11/14 in Hollywood) ...just purchased my ticket!
Welcome Jack. Nice to see another San Deiganite here. The set list was pretty much like the rest on the
West Coast loop. I just have the one vid up and don't know if anyone was taping. I shoot a lot but had such great vids from the FRC at Santa Barbara that I just wanted to enjoy the show from my less than sterling location. I have a bunch linked on that thread and it was the same show (except for the guest jam I shot which is linked on the front page in a separate topic) in a much better venue so you can relive it there. I'll be putting up a lot more from there as time permits. Be sure to link up with the gang at the Benefit because there will be several of us there. I'll send you a pm as plans firm up.
