Topic: Elton John!!

Well, it was announced today that Elton John's coming to Dallas on March 13!! I hope I can see the show since I haven't seen him live yet.

Yes, he's alive. He's touring and still playing alot of shows in Vegas as well.

If I could see him again like I did in 1972 before he was famous I would definitely go. Same as Neil  Diamond  and James Taylor - one man and his guitar. Or piano in this case.

I have never walked out of a concert until my last Elton John show. I'd seen him on tour when he and Billy Joel were doing concerts together. That was a fabulous show. So I was looking forward to Elton's last visit to my city. It was so loud that I couldn't even make out which song he was singing. The music even sounded garbled. It was horrible. After a while I just had this cacophonous racket bouncing in my ears so I left. Disappointed.

Now, I have recently read (on this site) about seat location and sound quality. Perhaps it was all due to where I was seated.  Bum luck, perhaps.

But if you do go, I hope you have a great time!!  He is a fantastic performer.

Saw him in Vegas in October.  I understand how the sound quality can make or break it for someone.  The sound was great at Caesars, good seats/view.  He played like it was his first concert in a while and was excited to get back at it.  I went to see him because 2 of the 3 people I was travelling with are big fans, I was not disappointed.
