Saw this on my other all time greatest guitarist ever. I know some will be interested. Hell how good would he have been ? We will never know unfortunately.

Thanks Peter.

Nothing new there apart from some of Joe's insights and tit bits, but always nice to re-read and appreciate the esteem in which he is viewed.

History has been kind to his music which sounds as fresh today as it was then. I have a playlist of about 40 favourite tracks of Free which regularly gets an airing and the songs and his playing is as stimulating today as it was back then.

There's no doubt in my mind the albums upto and including Fire and Water were his best work with Free, although a couple of my favourite tracks are on 'Free at Last'. His solo efforts were also sublime I thought. The first album with BSC pointed to better things. Shame it wasn't to be.

25 was a stupidly young age to die, but a badly damaged Kossoff with impaired playing would have been a travesty too. Like his hero Hendrix, maybe it was pre-ordained to be, thus leaving a rich legacy of untainted musicianship.
