Topic: US Floyd Anyone??

We have tickets to see US Floyd at the Lexington Opera House this Saturday. Has anyone seen or heard this Pink Floyd tribute band? We've seen Australian Pink Floyd twice and loved it hoping this US Floyd will be just as good? smile

Haven't heard of them as there are so many tributes to Pink Floyd. There's a very popular one based right here in Benicia named House of Floyd who have created an avid following throughout NorCal. BTW, love your avatar, reminds me of a morning DJ radio prank here a few years back. The DJ asked listeners how do you pronounce the capital of Kentucky and gave 3 ways of pronouncing Louisville. It took over a dozen callers before one said Frankfort!!!

Still haven't found much on this tribute band we're seeing tonight. Here is the link to their website, not a lot of detail there. It says they play for 2 1/2 hours with a 30 minute intermission and is supposed to have a laser light show? Tried to find some youtube but without knowing exactly how it's indexed not having much luck. A Long Island NY tribute called Us and Floyd primarily comes up along with every video of Us and Them. These guys are from Charleston WV.

As long as we don't have tickets to see these guys all is good! Cannot take credit for finding video TieDyeVikki posted it here a few years ago smile So bad it's got over a million hits lol

That is hilarious! Avatar is because at Joe's show in Louisville a few weeks ago when he pulled out his best southern accent to tell a funny story that he kept getting corrected on his pronunciation of Looavul wink

Caught "The Machine" (New York based) a couple of Saturdays ago in So NJ.  They were playing at a newly renovated 700 seat movie theatre in a nearby small town.  Music performance was very good. When the curtain went up, the "Nick Mason" artist was wearing a sparkly silver dress / top.  She (Tahrah Cohen) was very good behind the kit. www.themachinelive.com

TieDieVicky, an old forum member who's fallen in the cracks, was always raving about The Machine. Have a blast.

Re: US Floyd Anyone??

They were pretty good, all very talented musicians enjoyed the set list. They had some technical difficulties with an amp that blue. At times I felt they could be more together but all in all a great performance. The saxophone player was also playing what looked like an electric clarinet? It put out a wide range of sounds at one time sounded much like a flute.

The Machine is AWESOME!!! Always a great show.

And Rick, yes, TyeDieVicky is/was very active on their street team and a very devoted fan.  I had the pleasure of meeting Vicky once before a Joe concert in Reading, Pa.
