Re: Back Door Slam

wow...what a fantastic read! am lucky enough to work with/for the Slam (back here on the tiny isle 'o' man) and have just returned from the States where we caught their West Coast tour leg. they're getting an incredible reception out there - it's amazing to see these young guys, from a mostly unheard of British Island, really tearing it up in Blues country!
thanks so much for the support - we're all Joe B admirers so the band will be blown away by turning up on his forum! cheers all, CDH

Re: Back Door Slam

Back Door Slam's CD can be had from Amazon if you so desire. Great sound. I wish they could have stuck Red House on there as an extra track! Oh, well.

I also heartily recommend Scott McKeon's new CD (only on Amazon as far as I know) and also you might be interested in Aynsley Lister's CD titled "Everything I Need". I believe it is from 2000, but the sound is fantastic and IMHO it is better than his newer stuff in may ways. Pay attention to his rythm section on that CD. Absolutely first rate.

Aynsley's is also available on Amazon, but you will get a better price (and fast delivery) if you go to the Ruf Records web site. I believe it is www.ruf-records.com.

I checked out BDS as soon as I saw this posting. I recommend them to anyone interested in up and coming Blues/Rock artists.

Hmmmm, I just realized that my cd changer has all British artists in it except for Joe. What does that mean????? smile

Nothin' but the Blues

Great to hear, gingerbird.  Now a concert or festival with both Joe and Back Door Slam in the lineup would be great to see.  Talk about a musical party.

Re: Back Door Slam

Hi Gingerbird, Glad you found us here. Nice to hear your big Joe Bonamassa fans. Joe and B.D.S. bring youthful exuberance ( along with a boat load of talent ) to a genre of music that needs to stay fresh to survive. Adam,Davy, and Ross deserve the attention they're getting here in the states , good music has no boundries.                                         The Isle of Man must be proud of their native sons . smile            Paul

I agree Jeff, I've had Roll Away a week or so (got it from Amazon) and it is a fantastic disc from start to finish.  Not a bad track to be found, but some of my favorites are Come Home, Heavy on my Mind, Outside Woman Blues, Stay, It'll All Come Around, and Real Man.  These guys are great.

Re: Back Door Slam

Glad to see Shred is spreading the good word of Brother Lance. Blue Velocity is awesome as well.  You got some killer tunes to look forward to. Curious to hear what you think of Lance. It's been well documented that I'm probably the biggest Lopez supporter on this board. Enjoy!

Hey JBrules - Since this forum has gotten sooo busy, I've become a skim reader and let this thread pass me by.  The other day I heard Outside Woman Blues on the sirius blues #74, awesome band doing an awesome song!

I'm hoping this can happen! Gingerbird, I don't know in what capacity you work with Back Door Slam, but if you have any way to make this happen, please do what you can. Since JoeB seems to be selling out all the venues 'round No. CA and probably everywhere else that he plays on this tour, there will hopefully be bigger venues if BDS is there too.
