Topic: Pictures?

Are cameras allowed? I've got a pretty nice one, not professional by any means but better than a cell phone. I'll be going to the Augusta, GA show on 11/20

Hi  Holeshot.  Policy:

This stemmed from a different thread, but I wanted to make everyone aware of our policy.

"Our official stance is that we encourage photography and video recording at shows. There are a few rules though.

Regarding photography, we have a photo pass ,found here: http://jbonamassa.com/media/photo-consent-form/ that allows you to come down to the stage for the first three songs. You can use professional equipment here (SLRs and cameras with detachable lenses) with no flashes.
After the first three songs, you must return to your seat. From your seat, you may use point and shoot (non-professional/no detachable lenses) cameras for photography and recording.

We rent the venues we play in and do our best to communicate our stance to venue management and security and usually there aren't any issues; however, every now and then you're bound to encounter an overzealous security guard. Politely inform them of our policy and if they still give you trouble, ask for their supervisor.

Hope that clears things up and if you have any further questions, feel free to email me at ericd@jr-adventures."

There you go.  Please note that the link to the consent form (above ) does NOT,<---disregard, it DOES click to a consent form anymore. edit; my bad.  I enclosed the link in parenthesis which broke the link but connected to a free download page instead (genius! wink) Back to our irregularly scheduled facts, a consent form is out of the question for you and many other late inquirers-far, far, far too late (likely, can always check), so I'd say you could expect you may be shuffled away from the front without a pass, but OK in your seat... remember, no flash, please

Hope that helps.

Rock ON & Keep the Faith,
Rocket

ps-bear in mind security or managements may interpret things as no pass-no dice wink  Any disruption by them (or you or both) of others around is just that-a disruption to others around

Re: Pictures?

Latest consent form here (accessible via the main JB website)

Also, see the updated rules I was given with a recent pass

Whatever you do, please don't use a flash.  Enjoy the show! cool

Re: Pictures?

Thanks guys, guess that counts me out, was looking to take pictures from my seat but I've got a detachable lenses. How well, hopefully I can get some decent shots with my cell, doubtful though.

Based on my experiences, I think you might be okay bringing your camera to the show and taking a few photos from your seat just like you would with your phone. You can be much more discreet with a camera, especially if it has a viewfinder. Just turn your flash off and use a high ISO setting. An usher or security may ask you to stop, but from my experience that doesn't happen very often. Really what J&R are trying to control (in my opinion) are the pros and semi-pros, who are generally at the show just to take photos, from being a distraction and also getting in the way of paying customers.
