Topic: Queen City Special

Who is attending the show in Charlotte, NC next Tuesday? It will be my 5th time seeing Joe and from all the reviews and footage, it looks like it has the makings to be the best yet. I'm hoping by his comments in Cleveland that he is "debuting the new format", that the lineup and additional musicians will be on feature throughout the Fall schedule. I'll be sure to have plenty of "Sloe Gins" in hand and look forward to seeing all the Bonafaithful!

Re: Queen City Special

Tonight will be my first.  I've been counting down the days for six months, and let me tell you I'm on the edge of hyperventilation!  I hope there is a huge enthusiastic crowd at Ovens.  Just a few hours to go.

Re: Queen City Special

Well my wife and I had the times of our lives.  What a fabulous show.  I'm exhausted, as I'm sure the band is too.  Joe sweated thru his suit, LOL.

Re: Queen City Special

glad to hear the show was great! No surprise there!

Re: Queen City Special

Joe tweeted that he hurt one of his fingers prior to the show. So he said he would play thru the pain.

Re: Queen City Special

Another fantastic performance by Joe and the Band in Charlotte.

Set List:
Acoustic
Woke Up Dreaming
Seagull
Jelly Roll
Black Lung Heartache
Around the Bend
Jockey Full of Bourbon
Stones in my Passway
Ball Peen Hammer
Athens to Athens
Electric
Dust Bowl
Who's Been Talking
Midnight Blues
Dislocated Boy
Driving Towards the Daylight
Slow Train
Look Over Yonders Wall
Sloe Gin
Ballad of John Henry
Encore
Django
Mountain Time

The sound was perfect for an almost capacity crowd. I really like the updated version of John Henry. Athens to Athens was amazing.  Joe had slammed his right hand in a door the night before and was treating it with ice during the day some.  That did not seem to affect his playing one iota.  Had quick a few newbies there as a result of street teaming which they left there jaw on the floor at Ovens Auditorium.  There were about 53 for the M&G, 20 of them were from the Public TV offering. It was nice to see mostly all new people in the M&G.  Really good catching up with Joe.  Great guy...

Until Atlanta!!!
