Re: Joe was on fire in Roanoke!

Jane and I were lucky enough to have a M&G. They are so structured now, that you get nervous about being quick so as to avoid being herded out. Joe was in a good mood. I think he forgot I was in Vienna because he mentioned the format in a way that made me think he thought I wouldn't like the acoustic portion. lol He also had to remind us to take a picture as we felt the need to hurry up. He said he'd be insulted if we didn't take one. I demanded a smile then. lol
I remember Joe saying he's a "showman", and he's proving that. There's something for everyone now. The acoustic set exemplifies his skills. Add in the talented musicians from Vienna and it's a feast for your eyes and your ears. smile It's just plain FUN. Watch Lenny and try not to smile. Can't be done. I have a set list, but just look at Natasha's films, as they are in order.
After a quick break for stage changes we were off on the Electric Highway! smile
I wear ear plugs at every show, but I thought this show was a bit too loud. Nothing harmful, and no impediment to my enjoyment, just something I noticed. The addition of Lenny on percussion is a joy to me. Back to the "showman" comment. This my friends, was a show! I love all the interaction amongst the band and Joe. I also have great respect for this audience. They were quiet when it was appropriate, and roaring when called for. After being at shows with some "idiots" in the crowd, this was noticeable and greatly appreciated. It was time for the encore way too early! While I think Django and Mountain Time are beautiful fan favorites, I missed ending with a "stand up and dance" kind of song. However, the show was very satisfying and it took hours for Jane and me to calm down and sleep before heading to Richmond. wink

After uploading I was surprised to see this too!  Picasa (Google) creates an animation if it recognizes 5 or more photos shot in a burst.

Re: Joe was on fire in Roanoke!

Here are some photos from Roanoke. There are three that I love of Tal and Lenny watching Joe while he is just going off on one of his solos. Love the expressions on their faces as they watch. Tal even clapped his drumsticks in appreciation while the solo was going on. Just cool how his bandmates are just as enthralled watching him as we are smile
