Welcome to Joe's Bigtop!  I will look forward to meeting you too! As you can see I am in Iowa, too. Are you in Des Moines?  Just curious if your guitar teacher is someone I know. We will have a great time at the show again.  We'll be having some pre-show activity with a rather large contingent from across the USA as already indicated. Hope you can join us!

P.S.  When I came out of work tonite at Des Moines Performing Arts, Joe was all aglow on the big sign outside! So perfect! Gave me a thrill!  I would post a pic here but don't think I can with my IPad.

I actually live about two hours from Des Moines, in Fairfield, and my teacher lives and has a studio in Ottumwa. His name is Chris Hunter; does that ring a bell? And he saw that sign too, a couple weeks ago when he ran the half marathon! Crazy that it's up six months in advance!

Anyway, yeah, this'll be my first time at the Joe-show rodeo, so I'm not sure how the whole meetup thing works, but I'm sure you guys will clue me in as the time nears. So far away, blarg... But at least I get to catch Robert Cray in Riverside on Nov. 15th; that should be fun! smile

Well, it's a small world....I use to live in Fairfield and I know Chris Hunter. He was my late husbands guitar teacher......ask Chris about Dr. Don Patrick....Don was a chiropractor in Fairfield for many years. I am originally from Mt. Pleasant. I will look forward to meeting you.......

"I'm not nice to any guitar!"      lol

Of course, I remember Chris telling me about Don; he was so sad to hear of his passing. I'm so sorry for your loss. Yes, it is a weird, small world (especially here in little FF!).

Re: Hello from Iowa

barre chords are the worst! I am still trying to tackle those! haha I can't wait for the day when I say "I remember when barre chords were hard!" More practicing I guess!

Re: Hello from Iowa

Welcome Nina (I'm new myself!)  Looks like I'm going to have to make a trip to Iowa and meet some of you!  I'm also a die-hard Pettyhead, and know tons of people from the fanclub who live there too.  (They are also big Bonamassa fans, so all is good!)

Yeah, there are only a couple I've tackled so far. Bm was a big breakthrough. Hey, cute new pic of you and Joe! wink

Re: Hello from Iowa

Late to welcome you.  Glad to add another bona buddy to the fold.

Re: Hello from Iowa

Thank you! I almost melted during the pictures I had with him! wink

Well, that's enough for now. Looking forward to exploring this forum more soon!

Welcome to Bonamassaville! But never mind the guitar stuff, get to the REAL issue: Do you root for the Hawkeyes or the Cyclones?  wink

Haha, believe it or not, neither: I'm a Kentucky Wildcats girl! Lived in Lexington for 10 years before I moved here, and it's impossible not to become a huge UK basketball fan if you are inundated with it for that long.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!

Jigsaw, please don't hold it against me that I'm a Hoosier... ;-)  Welcome fellow newbie!
