**************************AMAZING SHOW*********************************
I have to agree with BarbieD, definitely one of the best shows I have seen, absolutely top 3 performance!!! We didn't make it in time for the preshow gathering, but did have the pleasure of sitting next to Natasha and Phil, thanks to our buddy Ron!
My wife and I were both so excited to see the acoustic band, and when they came back out for "Mountain Time" it was amazing!! I also liked that Joe brought back the Theremin on "John Henry" - very cool!!!
We had a great time, amazing time actually! My wife and I both were lucky enough to get a guitar pick, and as we were leaving, I heard a gentleman say he had been trying to get a guitar pick from Joe for his collection, so we gave him one of ours! You would have thought we gave the guy a million bucks, very cool experience to say the least!!
I know Ron is gonna get tired of us thanking him, but it meant so much to us to be able to go to this show, so thank you once again Ron!!!

Indeed the show must go on!!! Joe never seems to blink when things go wrong!! Great vids and info on the show everyone!! We were waiting on the info but now May seems sooo far away!!
I heard it through the grapevine that a special ladies undergarment hit the stage. Any vids of that moment?
Joe's got nuttin on TJ!

It was great to meet everyone prior to the show - I'm glad everything worked out so well. Sorry Sherry and I could not hang out after the concert - we had to be up at 4:30AM to get to the airport because we had an 8:30 flight to Vegas because Sherry has a work conference to attend all week (and I get come along for fun!).
When the show was over I looked over at Sherry and said "there is nothing I can say to describe what we just saw". amazing show. Can't wait for Pittsburgh in May!
Ron - I really enjoyed talking guitars and gear with you - let us know when the CD is out!
Mike.
Hi all. Just got home from the Cleveland show. Just too much goodness all in one place at one time!
First, it was dynamite to get to meet so many Forum folks...Mike and Sherry, Ron and Julie his gorgeous daughter, Natasha and Phil, Rogue (Rich and Marge), and BarbieD and her sister Jane (Barb, please tell Jane the cocktail concoction she recommended was yummy and NO residual headachiness this morning!!) It was almost like meeting movie stars for me seeing these familiar Bonafans live and in person! Just sorry more couldn't make it to join in the pre and post party.
Second, the show: As mentioned above, the acoustic set lasted 52 minutes, then 15 minute break, then electric that concluded at 10:47!! Did we get our money's worth or what? No guests though - but that's ok with me since we got more Joe time. The sound was excellent. I was in the second row that wrapped around row 1 so since I was near the end I could actually touch the stage. Love when they turn it up...the floor was actually moving up and down with the vibrations and my hair I swear was bouncing too. Loved it! But you could still hear the vocals and Joe's guitar perfectly. Been waiting for Ball Peen Hammer! It looked like Joe just blew through straight to the encore, since on the European tour Sloe Gin and John Henry were the encore, but he just kept going. But then he had Mountain Time for the encore. Carmine looked like he was having a blast, grinning and particularly cajoling the Irish fiddle player. Derek had a couple masterful solos, and Tal was his usual fun animal self. Sat next to a guy who has followed Joe since Bloodline! Does he get a prize?
Third, Joe. omg. English doesn't have enough words for him. He was so on top of it, I'll never understand how he pulls it all together perfectly on every performance. His energy and dedication are indescribable. Was just hanging onto every note. The Sloe Gin and John Henry solos nearly brought on the waterworks, they were so beautiful and powerful. He and the guys deliver SO much talent, it's almost too much to assimilate! Awe stricken. I didn't think my fervour for Joe could grow any more, but of course now it has.
A fringe benefit was spending 6 glorious hours in the car listening to Joe for this trip. Cannot ever get enough. Now that I'm home I can open my 4 disc box set that was waiting for me and get busy!
(Barb, please tell Jane the cocktail concoction she recommended was yummy and NO residual headachiness this morning!!)
OMG, Sally, that was the first thing I said when I woke up this morning - no headache (and no 2 a.m. pizza gut either)! However, we may have still been drunk as we stumbled our way through the Rock Hall today!
We had a blast hanging with you! Thanks for putting it all together!
Hi yinz guys,
Yes, just as everyone has reported, Joe and Company was spectacular! And it was really great meeting new bonabuddies!
From malfunctioning amp pickups to broken guitar strings, nothing could stop Joe. Who knows what else happened that the audience never even knew about?
I just wonder if the camaraderie that exists between "Joe fans" exists for other performers? I wonder if Joe knows he's not only building a fan base but also a network of friends? This morning at breakfast at the Hilton Garden Inn, a guy noticed my Bonamassa shirt and came over to discuss the show! It was great. And my new friends from Wisconsin...gotta' get me a cheese head! :-)
Thanks Joe. For everything.

Thanks everyone. I am so stoked for Louisville that I can hardly wait.
Here is a really nice rendition of "Midnight Blues"

Great solos by both Joe and Derek on "Someday After Awhile"

Thanks Mike great to meet you guys also. I could talk guitar geek stuff all night long. Great to meet so many fans that are on Joe's forum.
Cheers Ron
Sorry I did not get to meet up with the crew this time...we were running a bit late because of the rain & traffic.
Saturday night's show was one of the best I have seen in a long time....Joe was on fire.
Spent Sunday at the Rock & Roll hall of fame.....Rolling Stones were the feature act.
Well, now that we are home and rested I just wanted to say what a fantastic weekend we had in Cleveland! It was so nice meeting everyone before and after the shows, Sally, Barbie, Mike & Sherry, Rich and Marge. Great spending some time with Ron and his daughter. Ron, you are one of the kindest people I know. Nice to sit next to Adam and Sarah at the show, so glad you were able to make it.
The show itself really was unprecedented. Joe and his bands are comprised of absolutely stellar musicians. It lasted about 2 hrs 50 min and included 22 songs. If anyone complains about ticket prices after these shows, they need to have their head examined! We were fortunate to have a M&G before the show and it was just so nice to be able to say hi to Joe and talk with him. He was so excited about the Rock Candy DVD that is going to be coming out and was telling us all about it. It sounds really cool and I can't wait to see it!
It was also nice to see all of Joe's people again. When Bob was handing out the wristbands at the M&G, he was like, hey, you guys look familiar . We reminded him of how he had helped us at the Beacon with the security guards who wouldn't let us record and he laughed, "Oh, yeah, I remember that!" While we were standing in line, Roy W., was surveying everything at the merchandise table. When he saw us, he came over, said hi and shook our hands. What a nice guy he is. Also got to speak for a moment to Mike H. when he was breaking down the stage after the show. His dry sense of humor always cracks me up.
Wish all the audience had been as pleasant as Joe's people. There were so many rude people attending this show. I really wish they would not sell alcohol during the performance. It is always the ones with cups in their hands that are talking and yelling. The guy behind us kept yelling out "DUSTBOWL!" during the acoustic set. It was like, buddy if you just wait a few moments, then he will be playing it. Then of course when Joe did play "Dust Bowl" the guy was in the lobby getting another drink! Idiot! Then we had the people who showed up 4 songs in and wanted to get to their seats in the middle of the row. Their seats were mistakenly occupied by someone else and there was a ton of talking and commotion with tickets being handed back and forth across the row to verify seats. Totally ruined "Richmond" for us. The show starts at 8 people! Get to your seats ahead of time! They ended up not sitting until the electric set started. It should be like the symphony. Once the performance starts the doors to the lobby are shut and no one may go back and forth until the intermission. It is just so disrespectful and rude to Joe, his band, and all the other people who are sitting quietly trying to enjoy the show. Luckily this is not the only show we are seeing this fall, so hopefully people will have more respect at the other venues.
We are looking forward to Roanoke and Richmond next weekend. This current line up with both the acoustic and electric bands is truly phenomenal! Joe you just continue to amaze us. Just when you think it is as good as it can get, you take it up a notch! Amazing! Thank you!
Hi Natasha
Many many thanks for posting the youtube links to last Saturday's JB concert. My wife and I are enjoying every minute of your footage. That was one awesome show. We could only score balcony seats but they were better than nothing. If I ever meet you the beverages are on us. By any chance .....do you have Woke Up Dreaming ? Thanks again!!!
BigD
Thanks for all the great reviews and comments and "extra niceties." Makes for long lasting feel good smiles for me!
