Topic: Joe ROCKS Cleveland

Just got back to the hotel and wanted to get the info out to the bonafans

This was our 3rd Joe concert and just when you think there is no way for the experience to get any better Joe makes it even more unbelievable of a show.  The acoustic show was powerful and way better than I even imagined it could have been.  The band is great ... beyond great!  The acoustic show went for about 45-50 minutes and then there was a 15 minute intermission while they re-set the stage and the plugged-in show started and went for nearly 2 more hours!  Joe and the 2 bands were amazing.  The encore was a really cool twist on a familiar Joe song ... I won't let the cat out of the bag though - wait until you see it.

I lost track of the set list ... but believe me, you will get nearly a 3 hour concert!

And - it was awesome to meet all of the fellow bonafans before the show!!!!

Mike & Sherry

You have not experienced what a truly emotion filled solo is until you have seen Joe play Sloe Gin in person.

Re: Joe ROCKS Cleveland

Thanks for the quick report and please let the cat out of the bag? The suspense is killing me, we need details!!!!

Re: Joe ROCKS Cleveland

It was an awesome show! What a production. A special thanks to Joe and Mike for your hospitality! It was really busy with sound check for both bands, but we enjoyed talking guitars with you both.

Re: Joe ROCKS Cleveland

Great great show,  very different than any of the 20 shows I've been too. Stage redesign, first class lighting, set list, band members.... I can officially say Joe has made it to the big time!

Re: Joe ROCKS Cleveland

I'm getting there wink Hopefully in the next 20 minutes Django/Mountain Time will be up. We'll see how the internet speed goes. Stones in My Passway was really cool and Look Over Yonders Wall with both Tal and Lenny Castro on the drum solo was great! Poor Joe had some technical issues at the beginning of Black Lung Heartache. Guitar amp or chord didn't work so Joe had to put the mic down by the guitar and sing kind of bent over into the mic. What a consummate professional, the show must go on and sometimes a little improvisation has to be done. Way to go Joe!!

Re: Joe ROCKS Cleveland

Fantastic show tonight at a great playhouse.  Special mention goes to Joe's playing on "Sloe Gin."  Brilliant!!  Out of all of Joe's tremendous guitars, I thought Spot sounded the best tonight, particularly on "Sloe Gin."

Thank you for a wonderful show Joe.  I brought my daughters (ages 17 and 14) to the concert, and they are great fans too.  My eldest daughter is also a guitar player and you are her favorite.

If anyone is on the fence about going, please do yourself a favor and go see Joe on this tour.  The acoustic set alone would be worth the price of admission.

So impressed with Joe performing two sets.

Best wishes on the rest of the tour Joe!

A Gibson Les Paul, Marshall Amplifier, Bottle of Jameson, Pack of Marlboro Lights and A Zippo lighter....  What else is there?

Here is Django/Mountain Time performed by both the acoustic and electric bands as the encore

Re: Joe ROCKS Cleveland

Mountain Time has been my favorite song for a long, long time.  I thought it was not possible to love it even more but this is such a rich and textured version that I am practically speechless.  Thank you Natasha.  My socks are now in the other room.

Re: Joe ROCKS Cleveland

Thanks Sandy. Here is "Look Over Yonders Wall". Excellent funky version with a really cool combined percussion and drum solo with both Tal and Lenny Castro

Re: Joe ROCKS Cleveland

Many thanks for Mountain Time, Natasha - I was so gutted when he missed this out of the Prague set last month!

Re: Joe ROCKS Cleveland

No, Jane, he didn't play the Strat. Maybe he's just teasing us by putting it in his case smile
Here is "Stones In My Passway" with a really cool beginning to it.

Natasha....thank you...once again...for the uploads.  Part of me wanted to wait to see live on this Tour (hopefully)....but 51% of me couldn't wait.

Safe Travels.

"I was in Space for less than 2 weeks … and suddenly Jeaniene’s back … half the Band is off the gd wagon … we have comedians opening for us … and the nice kid that ran our website is now a kleptof’nmaniac.  Boy ... did you guys miss me!!"  Phil Valentine - Road Manager - Staton House Band

JBLP#251 (unaged) ... thank you Ron.

Re: Joe ROCKS Cleveland

Great vids, as usual, Natasha!

Sister Jane and I really loved this show. We loved the opening set and the fact that Lenny played the whole show. I also enjoyed Derek on keyboards. Too bad we couldn't see him, though. Once in while I could see his right hand! I much prefer his playing style over Arlan's. The Mountain Time finale with the entire lineup was awesome! I had never heard Someday After Awhile but I really enjoyed that song. Good addition to the set list. I was also glad to hear Richmond and Around the Bend.

Joe was in great form.  In the eight performances of Joe's that I have attended, this show ranks in the top 3.

I guess, in short, I really "loved" and "enjoyed" this show! wink

It was also fun meeting fellow Forum buds - Sally, Mike and Sherry (Mditurno), Rich (Rogue) and Marge, Natasha and Phil, and Ron (Cindyron).

And now, it's back to the Rock Hall for us! And then back home to reality tomorrow.

Thank you, Cleveland and Joe, for a great time and a much needed break!
