Topic: I can't believe it has been this long.

It's been five years today since my first post here and it somehow seems like yesterday.

My oh my! How my life has been changed since my first tentative post here on this forum. This was my first ever foray into the internet world of fandom and what a ride it has been. I became the posting fool extolling the man we all revere. Now I can't get enough it seems and my life partner and loving wife Helen has enjoyed every step of this journey at my side for which I'm truly blessed. I've made a lot of new friends here and hope my hard headed transgressions from time to time have been observed with that grain of salt and not irked too many. I'm a Taurean just like Joe, our birthdays are only a couple of days apart, and sometimes we tend to be a bit headstrong... but we're softies at heart. smile

Thanks to Joe Bonamassa for his marvelous gift and this forum, and to all of you for making this place so cool. It's been a joy following the best musician I've ever heard play the guitar, and a double joy being one of his family here.

Hi Rick, nice getting to know you on here - I only joined the forum a couple of weeks ago but have seen you around. This is my first time on a forum too, but I'm enjoying being part of it and sharing opinions with other Bonamaniacs. I'm also a Taurean, May 4th, so we bulls have to stick together!

Re: I can't believe it has been this long.

time flies when you're having fun, and yeah you are definitely a postaholic. smile just realized that I had 5 years this last June, it really does not seem that long ago since Joe was here for his first show. I will echo your sentiments and say it has been great getting to converse with so many here around a musician that has gone far and above expectations. Here's to you for another 5 years and another 10,000 posts, keep up the good Bonawork.

Re: I can't believe it has been this long.

Happy Bonaversary Rick. Time sure does fly, but you have been one of the constants on this site over the last 5 years.
The math seems pretty simple in my mind: about 2000 posts per year, which is almost 5.5 posts every day!
I can't claim I've read them all, but have enjoyed all the ones I have read.
Looking forward to the next 10,000! See you in Des Moines!

Late to the party AGAIN but congrats Rick on your 5 year Bonanniversary.  Seems like you've been around for ever (in a nice way) and it was great meeting up with you at the RAH in March.

Ah yes, the frozen toes brigade. lol I am looking forward to seeing the gang across the pond next year again. We plan on an extended visit with a stop in London for sure. There's that grandchild magnet in Berlin that keeps pulling us over. It was nice meeting you and the rest of the crew there. We pray the next visit will provide more clement weather. Our vow is to never go over to Europe when it is wintry again. (well, if Joe is doing another gig like the last we are all over it, but better prepared with parkas and hand warmers.)

Re: I can't believe it has been this long.

Hay Rick,    Congratulations to you !  The horses left the Lake today and I have some catching up to do.

It boggles the mind to think of all the warmth and generosity you have spread across this Forum.

I am forever grateful for the back up you gave me on the Chincoteague Pony.

She is just a little tougher than I had expected, but I played Joe for her every-time I fed her favorite treat and toward the end of the season, she would really start to perk up when Joe started to play, no matter the song!

Thanks again for so quickly and generously backing up the idea of the saddle bags.

I know that I am no exception to the rule and you have touched many in your time on the journey of Joe.

This Forum is a much richer place for your being here.

I bet the next 5 years go by in a FLASH, and the best is yet to come!

God Bless!
