Be happy he is playing in 6 cities in your state, that is more than any other state. Joe generally rotates where the cities are from year to year. He can't be everywhere all the time.
it's actually seven other cities in Texas.
Still find it remarkable that anyone has ANY complaints about Joe's touring schedule, but this one does take the cake!
Can't agree more with you Lee!

No kidding. Fans are used to loooong road trips to adjacent States on a regular basis just to see him once a year and this one complains because Joe doesn't play in his own town? I'd be planning a 4 or 5 show road trip.

Totally agree, I would look at the whole thing like it's a Bonanza! Those Texas people are lucky as hell
I always hesitated signing up for these forums because of snarky comments, and I guess I just verified that. You people are something else. I merely was asking a question to see if there was anything in the past that may have shed some light on the lack of having the largest metro area in Texas on the schedule. You folks need to go fill a bowl and smoke it and relax.
I plan on attending a couple of the shows as I travel the state for business.
Hi jrpage, sorry if these comments came across badly. It's just that over the years many of us have been used to having to drive significant distances to get our Joe fix and are more than happy to do it. We realize he is spread so thin and no one is ever totally satisified with the tour schedule!
Joe was in Dallas on 10/30/12 and you may not be aware that he usually has a 18-24 month rotation for most of the cities he is able to hit.
Hang around, you will see this is a good bunch on here. Enjoy whatever TX shows you can make!

Sometimes it is not what you say but how you say it. I was at the fall 2012 show and because of close proximity there usually isn't a show in Dallas and in Oklahoma City in the same tour. Last fall from Dallas they went to Tulsa. I would say if there isn't some sort of late announcement it would be Fall 2014 for a Dallas play. There is however a three day window between San Antonio show and Oklahoma City. I wouldn't be totally surprised if a Dallas date isn't announced then. If not your more than welcome to come up to OKC although it is a Tuesday night it probably is the closest show to you.
Dallas is a huge market for Joe and he by no means skips it without good reason. There is the possibility that no suitable venue was available or the Dallas PBS station was not scheduling the Tour De Force special to air prior to this Springs run. They are hitting cities that are offering the PBS fundraiser promotion.
Sorry if I came across snarky jrpage. We see so many posts that seem not in touch with Joe's tour routine and it seemed a bit whiny so I took it the wrong way. Jim's explanation is spot on. Out here in California which is a major market too he only hits San Diego every other year so we just hit the road and go where he is playing.
Rick
Sorry the style of response, but there was someone who brought up the Dallas thing about a week or so ago in quite an unpleasant way, and maybe seeing Dallas referenced again just got everyone a little worked up. It's unfortunate when Joe's tour doesn't come close to your city. We have to drive at least 3-4 hours for anything we want to see this Fall or Spring, but fortunately most main cities appear to be on a somewhat yearly rotation, so he will hopefully come back Fall 2014 or at the most Spring 2015.
