Topic: Incredible JB/LD Miller Video

Blues Deluxe in Vegas. Simply AWESOME. Both are absolute virtuosos on their instruments and have a good chemistry/incredible respect for one another. Fun battle in the middle, with a great comment from LD: "Why you always gotta win all the time?" Unfortunately the video cuts off at 10 minutes right when Joe was launching into the regular Blues Deluxe solo, which is fantastic by itself. Hopefully the person who posted the video puts up the full length one soon. Enjoy!

HI Evan,

Thanks for sharing.  I was at that show.  I could see LD off stage before BD.  Would have been cool if he played more during that show.

ahhh, brings back memories!

Great show and great performer!

Re: Incredible JB/LD Miller Video

I'd like to see a dueling guitar thing. The only problem is I can't seem to find a child prodigy to take on Joe. I've seen shredders, rockers and even classical prodigies but not Blues ones.

Re: Incredible JB/LD Miller Video

I had this funny dream after seeing the Supergroup show w/ Joe and Ted jamming, and in the dream Joe was jamming with these guitar players who kept dropping like flies trying to keep up with him.  It was like, they would be going back and forth, and eventually the poor guy jamming w/ Joe would just drop from the exertion, and Joe would just go up to the mike and say, "Next!" and after dragging the other kid off the stage, they'd bring up another guy, and it would be a matter of minutes before he passed out too. this went on all night (at least in my dream) it was pretty funny to me-

Anyway, that LD is phenomenal- I sure wish I get to see him jam with Joe someday.  My daughter saw the video and couldn't believe LD was only a year older than her! (she went upstairs to practice her clarinet some more smile  )

Omigod A.J., that dream is hilarious (sounds like a great premise for a music video). Were these non-descript guitar players being dragged off stage, or did you recognize them?

Re: Incredible JB/LD Miller Video

Thanks for the link! LD is amazing and im only a year older than him, and I play blues guitar. I wish I could jam with Joe, but then again I dont because he would kick my a**!! That would be cool to sit in with him though and he could maybe teach me a few things. Joe gave me some good advice though the last time I talked to him. He said "Be yourself. Don't try to be someone else or copy everything they do on the guitar. Try to listen to as much as you can. Even if it's something you don't like. You can always learn from it."  That was the best advice anyone has ever gave me because now, I don't just sound like one guitar player- I've developed my own style.
Thanks Joe!

Re: Incredible JB/LD Miller Video

Hi Bill:

The guitar players weren't anyone famous or anything, just your sterotypical, self proclaimed shredders, that kind of thing--but it was one funny dream...  I wish I was a better writer so I could describe how funny it was to watch it-

I just thought of the dream again after watching the Joe/LD video, towards the end when they are playing back and forth, and LD jokingly says to Joe, "Why do you always have to win all the time?" It just reminded me of it-

Re: Incredible JB/LD Miller Video

You tube limits you to 10 Min thats why the video cut off, when I  figure out how do download the whole video somwhere else, I'd be happy to. :-)

I am somewhat handicapped when it comes to the computer. However someone sent this link to me for photos of that sme vegas show. Once I figure out how to load things I will have some other Joe Stuff to share.

Re: Incredible JB/LD Miller Video

Hi t miller,

I am rather computer handicapped myself and can never get You Tube to work. Also still stuck with dial-up out in the "sticks" of northern Wis.

My husband and I also saw your guys at Prairie Dog a few years ago and loved it! So happy for LD!  Love the CD with all the family pics. too.  So cute!
We might make it to see the band again in Beloit this Nov. Take care!

Re: Incredible JB/LD Miller Video

Millerz, why not post a part II of the video? That's what I've seen others do.

Glad you liked the pics of LD. Great kid! I'm looking forward to seeing him onstage with Joe again - August, perhaps? cool

Re: Incredible JB/LD Miller Video

LD and his brother Cole are on America's Got Talent.   I heard they are on again for the semifinals this coming Wednes. July 12 and AMerica gets to vote I think for just 24 hours.  I don't know how many times we get to vote, but I'll be voting as much as they let me for LD and Cole.
NBC seems to really be pushing another little girl singer...featuring her everywhere.  Let's all vote it up for someone with some real instrumental chops and big Joe B fans...The Millers.    Even if you can't catch the show, you can still vote!!!  probably at nbc.com  Let's do it up, blues and Joe fans!
