Topic: Hi Everyone!

Hi, my name's Erin and first let me say i'm so glad I found this forum! I'm a new Joe fan, my parents introduced me to him about 2 years ago but didn't really start "obsessing" (and I really do mean obsessed) over him until about 6 months ago! It's great to find people who love his music and everything he does just as much as I do! Being a 22 year old female it's hard to find anyone my age who loves his music as much as I do. I'm sure though there are plenty on this forum! Will be seeing him in November for the second time and can't be more excited! Just wanted to say hello to everyone and rock on!! smile

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hi and welcome . Enjoy the forum big_smile

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: Hi Everyone!

A belated welcome to Bonamassaville, Erin. Sorry I missed your debut. I'm sure you'll pick up right away on the level of excitement around the place right now regarding the release of the London DVDs and related items. When stuff like that comes out, a lot of us are like little kids on Christmas morning! I assure you that, for the most part, we are otherwise perfectly normal and pleasant human beings, and a lot of fun to talk to...  wink

Welcome on board Erin!

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hi Erin! I'm a newbie as well, but in similar shoes: I'm a 30-year-old female who has become a huge Joe fan in the last year and a half. Just discovered this forum tonight, and just got tickets to my first show earlier today. Can't wait!! Nice to see other young women on here that are into Joe's supreme electric blues...

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hi! Just posted on your thread there, didn't realize you posted on mine from a little while ago! Yes, I agree if I can find anyone my age who likes this kind of music I am very pleased! Glad you joined, i'm fairly new to this also but have felt very welcomed! Awesome that we both started picking up guitar also! : )

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hay!  Welcome Erin (belated) and Jigsaw too.  I get so happy when I see the enthusiasm for the Blues in the up coming generation!

Enjoy your Bonamassa Adventure and the Forum.  So happy to see you both have taken up the guitar journey too.

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hey Erin, I don't think I ever formally welcomed you to the forum...so welcome!
I see you're from St. Charles, IL. Joe has played there in the past...at Chord On Blues just off the river. That was in 2005 and 2006 and was also the place where Kevin Shirley first saw Joe play.
I was at all 3 of those shows...I'm not sure that there was ever more than 100 people at any of them. That place was great, but they had stopped the live music and became strictly a bar/restaurant. My understanding was that the live music became a losing proposition for them.

I'm also in St. Charles. I really wish that I could have seen those Chord on Blues shows. Must have been pretty awesome.

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hi, yes I so wish I could have seen those shows as well! So cool that is where Kevin and Joe first met. Just moved here not too long ago but really love the area! There is a really cool theatre called the Arcada that hosts shows all the time, I saw Jason Bonham's Zeppelin Experience there and was blown away! He's so great! Jgibbons1685 that's too cool we're from the same town!  Thanks for the warm welcomes! : )

Re: Hi Everyone!

I'm fairly new to St. Charles too.
The Arcada is going to have Robert Cray with Gary Hoey soon. And a Gary Hoey Christmas show.
I missed out on that Led Zeppelin Experience show.

Thanks! Yes, it's fun to find kindred spirits on here. It's funny, I have loved listening to guitar from the time I was very young, but I didn't pick one up myself til last April. It's a little daunting when your standard is basically the top players in the world, lol. I'm mostly learning in order to be able to accompany myself and write songs, as I'm first and foremost a singer. It's a fun challenge, but such a slow process (especially if I get lazy about practicing) that sometimes I get a little disheartened. I'm starting on an acoustic; Erin, what about you?
